windows xp shows "new mail messages" at logon screen

How do i get rid of this. I am using outlook express for remote assistance with my folks. I dont want them to see these messages, because they will become confused. They use yahoo mail.

Anyway is their a setting in windows or Outlook itself?

Enabling/Disabling Email at Logon Scren

start>run and type

regedit

navigate to the following key

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\[Youemailaddress]

in the right-hand pane locate "MessageCount" then modify the value. 0 =
diabled and 1 = enabled.
