Don't know if anyone seen this. Bad news.

News
KSHB NBC TV in Kansas City is reporting that Priest Holmes has "very possibly" played his final game in a Chiefs uniform and could announce his retirement from the NFL as soon as Thursday. According to the report, further examinations revealed a lump on his spine that could lead to paralysis if he continued to play. The Chiefs have not officially confirmed the report and, as of Tuesday, were awaiting the results of a third evaluation in Miami.

Views
If this diagnosis is indeed true, it would not surprise us at all to hear that Holmes is hanging them up. He admitted publicly to considering retirement around the same time Ricky Williams walked out of the Dolphins locker room. If Holmes indeed calls it a career, Larry Johnson immediately becomes a top-five fantasy running back.

Hey n00b, what these guys are referring to(in case you haven't already figured it out) is that this news has already been posted. See this thread.

In the future, it wouldn't hurt to check the front page to see if something has already been posted/reported. ;)

BTW, welcome to Chiefplanet. :)

Here's the official news on Priest Holmes.

The Chiefs have worked out an agreement that will send Holmes to Philadelphia at the end of the season, in exchange for Terrel Owens.

The teams will only accept the players' current contracts, and both players have agreed to honor their existing contracts. As part of that arrangement, the Chiefs will owe Owens a $7 million bonus in 2006, and are treating that as a "signing bonus"

I believe the organization fed me false information about the retirement of Holmes to throw me off and because certain members of the front office have a bone to pick with me. This was an amateur attempt to embarrass me and tarnish my professional image.

Tune in to 41 at noon for the full story.

Thanks
-Jack

Don't mind them, they're a cranky bunch. Welcome to the planet.

If this is true, there is a bright side to the whole thing: that knock he took led to the tests which discoverd the lump on his spine. Things could have been worse if he was hit in that area without knowing about the problem.

He gets to walk away from the game in good shape. Hope it's not true but it could have ended worse.

Where in PA you from? Harrsiburg here.

Now that you have 7 posts and are not a n00b you can handle the truth..............according to Skip that unless you were on this board prior to 2003 you will always be a n00b.
