View Full Version : Time To Let The Priest Go...

Very sad time it is but let's face it. He hasn't finished the season now for 3 straight years. :shake:

If he does come back he needs to be the 3rd down or 2nd string back.

It is time for Johnson.

And I was NOT one of these selling out Priest after the first game this year.

I hate to see Priest go he is one of my favorite players next to DT. :deevee:

But we can't keep a broken RB either just because his name is Priest Holmes.

This is only two seasons in a row he has failed to play the full season.

Ok but the 3rd straight year he has had an injury that put him down for a while.

Actually three of the last four.

It is sad, but something needs to be done about his contract. If it is very high.

I never said anything about that. I was just correcting the thread starter who said 3 seasons in a row. ;)

He will still be a great red zone back, IMO.

I will say, people will look at him as injury prone from now on. That's too bad I think. I'm not sure... it's not like he's Fred Taylor and he gets little dings and pulls and stuff all the time. His injuries have been pretty serious... got roped on a horse collar tackle, last year he went flying out of bounds giving his body up like he usually does, then this year was a serious head injury. That's just the life of a running back, I think it's almost more bad luck than anything. People are gonna see him as injury prone when in reality it's taken some pretty serious injuries to keep him off the field. I'm not sure how much he can control that... I mean if somebody bends LJ backward on a breakaway or bops him square in the head to give him a concussion this week, there's nothing he can do about that. That's just football.

Who knows if he'll be back, next year? If he is, and he's clear to play, wind him up and let him on the field. If he gets banged up again, so be it. (After, of course, Carl has done his magic re-negotiating Holmes' contract.)

I want him healthy and back next year as the No. 2 behind LJ, getting some red-zone carries and spelling LJ in the middle of games. His character and work ethic will be assets, too.

Don't just ban him, find his IP and ban it.
