Anything that tastes good with ketchup, DOES taste better with barbeque sauce!!!!!

He didn't mention catsup. I'm not sure what to do.

I'd second that. Ketchup is just flat gross.

I haven't eaten anything with ketchup or catsup in years... it's been BBQ sauce all the way for me!

I think I've solved the mystery:

ketchup comes from tomatoes

catsup comes from tomahtoes

:hmmm:

I think he should moonlight a food review column somewhere.

Just look at him. You can tell his mama has always been a great cook. Anyone casting a shadow like his has to know a thing or two about eating.

Jason, if you're reading this, can you please weigh in on the catsup thing for me?

Wrong! One of my favorite bad meals is two McDonald's McRib meals, using the extraneous BBQ sauce from the McRibs as a dipping sauce for the fries.

I guess this means you missed the market research done on BBQ flavored potato chips.

WTF were they thinking?

You're using the McRib as an argument in a culinary discussion? That's got to be an automatic 15-yard penalty.

When I think of the McRib, it always reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer and the others were all hooked on Krustyburger's BBQ sandwich. At the end of the episode, Krusty confessed that it wasn't really beef.

Krusty: "Think smaller..."

Crowd of BBQphiles (in unison): Huh?

Krusty: "And more legs."

Crowd (in unison): (Cringing)

This thread is about real BBQ sauce.

McDonald's can't even get coffee right.

So, try and act like ya know.

But I agree with the BBQ sauce sentiment, french fries are made for it.

Nonsense. Take a look at a McRib next time they find a new batch. It's amazing; it's even shaped like ribs.

I like certain kinds of fries with BBQ sauce. Some with ketchup. Burgers and Hot Dogs with ketchup.

Steak? No way. Although steak sauces aren't all that different from ketchup, but I only use it when I get a bad steak.

For regular BBQ foods I will always use Gates sauce.

But, for french fries, chicken strips, whatever some people might normally use ketchup for the regular old KC Masterpiece stuff is fine with me. For some reason the thicker sauce seems to go better with fries and the ketchup foods.

My girlfriend puts ketchup on everything. Steak, mashed potatos, pork chops, chicken, eggs, bacon, it's friggin gross. I would go through a small bottle in at least a year. Now we have to buy it once a month.

A friend of mines wife does that, with pride...I think she realizes it pisses me off so she does it to be a PITA. Of course, it's obvious she wouldnt know good steak from shoe leather, so instead of serving a $20 T-Bone, she gets the $4.00 flank steak and the rest of us get the T-Bones or Strips.

As she coats that thing in Heinz thinking she's all that, Im thinking: 'yeah, you're going to need that for that piece of cows ass you're going to eat'.
