Buffalo has given up 12 runs over 20 yards, worst in the league. Don't expect KC to run crazy early, Buffalo is BEST in the league in the 1st quarter but in 3rd and 4th quarter they fall off dramatically. Chiefs should pound the ball early and often, but don't be surprised if things don't really open up until 2nd half...

Cotlar asked the Holmes question. He said "Holmes is done for the season, but he's NOT retiring, isn't that right."

Mitch's answer?

"WWWEEEEELLLLL...it's too presumptuous to say he's retiring. But it's also too presumptuous to say he isn't."

He said this will be much like the 2002-2003 offseason - we likely won't know anything about Priest until the summer.

"Don't expect KC to run crazy early"............."Chiefs should pound the ball early" -- That makes sense

"it's too presumptuous to say he's retiring. But it's also too presumptuous to say he isn't." -- Thanks for the insight.

Holthus is smart enough not to get into that sh*t.

A couple of other things:

8 of the Bills 12 runs over 20 yards have been in the 2nd half...

McCleon and Surtain are gametime decisions...he didn't seem certain either would play.

What he's saying is that the Chiefs AND the fans need to be patient. They Chiefs SHOULD run the ball early and often, but they should NOT expect early success. They need to make sure to not abandon the run, which should start to open up the more they pound on the Bills.

As for Priest, that IS insightful. He's basically telling everybody that believes the Chiefs side of the story to be careful. To me, he really sounded like he believed Priest would never play again...
