View Full Version : Gambling Today - What's Your Picks?

I am starting this thread because I love gambling and do it in more areas than just the NFL where my picks are always posted. I have been red hot on the NBA this year and am just starting to get my feet wet on hockey and some college. There is a lot of collective knowledge here so I thought I would post this thread so people could post their daily picks and elaborate if they want to. This will also hopefully help out all people who love having juice on the games and play consistantly. Bragging rights are always cool too. So, what's hot today?

Pistons(Detroit)
Blazers(Portland) 11/11/05 (22:40 ET)
Pistons(Detroit) -7 (-105)

I like the Psitons again even though they looked tired last night, Portland has been terrible and I think they will cover the 7. I have done real well with the Pistons recently.

Jazz(Utah)
Raptors(Toronto) 11/11/05 (19:10 ET)
Over 180.5

The average on this game is 188. The line started at 182 and went down as both these teams are consistently hitting the under so they moved the line down from the average and it even went lower. Sloan ripped his team a new A-hole for being worthless and lacking intensity on the road after the last game. Both teams don't really have big men and as I see it that means a lot more running and shooting. In addition, Toronto is desparate for a win, Coach Sam Mitchell is changing the starting line up by starting Aron Williams and sitting one of the rookies

Devils(NewJersey)
Capitals(Washington) 11/11/05 (13:05 ET)
Devils(NewJersey) -1.5 (+190)

I really have no idea what I am doing when it comes to hockey so be carefull and know that there has been a lot of money going the other way on this one. Brent Johnson will likely start against New Jersey if Kolzig can't play. Johnson is 0-2 with the Caps this season with a goals-against average of 6.34 in very limited action
The Caps have just seven defenseman on the active roster, their lowest total of the season.

I love the Raps tonight as home dogs getting four against a very average Utah team. Yes, Toronto is 0-4 ATS and straight up but they are well rested and this is Utah's third game of an Eastern road trip. Oddsmakers have overadjusted IMO. Big Play.

The Clips are the Real Deal this year (and my team). It is unfotunate that they are getting a lot of press right now because I think the value will be gone with them here very soon because the oddsmakers will adjust.

I don't bet CFB but my boss has his Big Ten game of the Year going this Saturday. He is world famous for this pick as he hit it 19 years in a row and moved the Las Vegas line 7+ points. I am not even allowed to tell my family what the pick is...

What a ****ed up week to bet on the NFL, thank god I didn't put any money on the Giants. Fortunately I bet heavily on the Donx and then bet the Knicks last night over the Queens for +280. I almost ended up breaking even for this weekend with those. I am going to lay some money on the Eagles tonight though those guys have to be sick of hearing about how they can't do anything without TO.

Those aholes wont stop calling me. I had called them for a free pick on my cell and thought I was going to get an answering machine with the pick. Instead Joe Slick answers and it sounds like a pitch out of Boiler Room. Anyways had to hang up on him and now he calls and leaves messages on my voicemail, and blocks the call.

The Knicks are hella fragile they almost let the Queens back in that game last night. The guy I was watching it with put $500 on the Knicks. He was pretty stoked to win $1,400. He has had a good week in general.

The Lakers game is interesting. Memphis is playing their 5th game game in 7 nights and their 3rd game in 4 nights coming back from a long road trip. With Kobe taking most of the shots though I would think that bobby jackson and eddie jones who play pretty good D may be able to double team him and shut him down somewhat. Lakers are coming off of 2 losses though and should be hungery for a victory. They just may catch the Grizzlies tired. The +170 may be worth a go I may put a little on this one.

Great call on the Knicks. The Lakers looked terrible and the Grizzlies didn't look tired at all. I think that is as bad as I have ever seen the Lakers look. How bout them Eagles snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I'll bet the Philly media is going absolutely friggin crazy today. Somewhere TO is laughing his balls off. The Eagles game typifies my whole week. With 4 and a half minutes left I told Rina that for this game to match the rest of my week I would need McNab to totally **** up and throw the game away. Whalah....... Unfreakingbelievable.

I hate gambling on weeks like this.

That was a tough loss. I don't bet on games involving the Cowboys after that Monday Night game against Washington. I had the Giants and Cowboys BIG that night (seperate bets and parlays, I put all the money in my account on those two games when I was hammered). Wrote the game off as a win and turned it off then the next morning I check my account and there is $300 less than there should have been. I checked the score and could not believe it. Tough break last night. That's why its called gambling.

After losing the bet I am just glad they lost. If Akers had kicked that through at the end it would have pissed me off even worse. Frankly I could care less if the Eagles win another game this season after throwing that one away.

That's a good number on the Bucks. They are the better team right now I think the Clippers have been playing selfishly ecsp. Cassell. But LA plays really well at Staples even last season. Should be a real close one.

The Charlotte game is so low because Orlando's offense has sucked. They should get much better against Char defense and they could put up 100 tonight.

Scary night. I went from red hot to ice cold. I remember why I quit betting BB last year now. Too many games and very little consistancy. Hard to come out on top after giving up the coin to place. Yea the Clippers played great ball, their going to be a force. They finally won't be the other team in LA although I think the Lakers will be back on top in couple years. I couldn't believe how bad the officiating was in the in the Rockets game. Yao couldn't do anything without them giving him a foul and that comes from someone wanting the Timberweneverhitboardswolves to win.

Big on Georgia -3.5 against Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech has not covered a spread in back-to-back weeks in over 2 years!! WOW! Georgia looking to finish strong and have better skill players and more depth, and since oddsmakers overadjusted this line after last weeks huge upset this is a great pic IMO.

Well it was another great weekend but I really need to stop betting on basketball. I bet way more on football than BB but it still cuts into the profits. I am lucky I didn't get around any computers last night so I could lay some chingo on the Lakers. They were shooting a stellar 18% mid way through the 2nd quarter. :cuss: THey couldn't make a ****ing layup to save their lives. :banghead: On the good side The Bulldogs pulled through and unfortunately the Chargers won but I'll take the money. I don't know about this game tonight though I just may lay back and watch for fun 8 points is a lot. I do think the Colts will win though.

BIG_DADDY
11-28-2005, 11:39 AM
Here is the deal. Earlier in the year I bet the Colts would go 16-0 and it was paying +500. Looking at their schedule now I only see 2 teams that have a chance of picking them off. One is the Steelers tonight and the other is the Chargers later this season. Should I just let it ride or should I hedge at this point and lay some chingo on the money line against Indy in both of these games insuring me at least a +200 profit? What chance do you think these guys have of knocking them off?
