He's a wide receiver for the 49ers right now. He was on my baseball for 2 years as a kid. Grew up in Blue Springs, MO and his whole family is still here.

All he's done since he made it is catch TD passes and make amazing catches look easy. I'm sure he'd love to be home.....

dammit Carl!

ZachKC played on the same HS football team as Brandon Lloyd.

Yeah...I had never seen him play football. He didn't like baseball much so he didn't try all that hard. Could tell he was a great athlete, though. He went his way after high school and I never really heard much of him. Then suddenly he caught a touchdown pass against us in the preseason a few years ago. Since then all he's done is play solid wide receiver.

Same goes for Albert Pujols! I had to pitch to that guy a few times and damned if he wasn't blasting the ball back then...where the hell were the Royals!? How'd he end up in St. Louis!?

He probably would have broken out this year if he wasn't with such a bad team. He is in his third year when WRs usually start to get it and he seems to have some solid phyical abilites.

Very cool that you pitched to him a few times. Was his swing that good in high school?

As for the draft i think many teams passed on him and he went in the middle rounds. Not sure why but the MLB draft can be pretty damn random.

Oh yes. He was twice as big as everybody and already naturally stroking everything in the strike zone.

Don't know him... but I've always followed him a bit... since he's a KC kid. Seems like he really has the stuff to make it in the NFL. One of the few bright spots on a really bad team.

i saw pujols hit one of the longest HR's i've ever seen at chrysler stadium in independence, sucker must've cleared the left field fence by 150 feet, ball ended up in the parking lot of a church just up the road behind the ballpark, must've been sometime between 95-96

He was not even the best player on the baseball team.. They had 3 pitchers that combined for something like a 60-9 record.. MOst teams passed on him because of his age, just add 6 to whatever it says this year...

Is 6 the rumor? He certainly doesn't have the hairline of the average 25 year old.

Brandon is a heck of a receiver. When he was in High School though, he played tons of corner. My claim to fame now that he is catching TDs in the NFL is that I had 10 catches for over 200 yards when we played them his senior year, and he was following me all over the field. Of course we were way behind all game so we were throwing the ball on every down! I went to Lee's Summit, so we never gave Blue Springs a game.

Nothing he does suprises me...he is an amazing athlete. Some of the things he did in HS were unbelievable. Most of the good stuff was in practice. He once kicked a 71 yd FG.

He played WR, CB, K, P, PR, KR on the same team. There wasn't a single play he was not in on. This is on a team that was preseason Top 25.

I wish the Chiefs have gotten him. For as good as he has done he could do a lot better if he wasn't focused on stupid things like trying to be a rap star. He isn't a bad guy at all but he has a little bit of "leon" in him...

It was fun watching last years Redskins\9ers game seeing two Blue Springs guys against eachother in the NFL.

What position did you play at Blue Springs man? When did you graduate? Did you see Betts' 94 yard kickoff return for a touchdown today?

One of my College roommates played for Olathe South and tried to spike Pujols once to break up a double play. Oh to think how the world would have been different.

When we played him (St. Joe Central)... he kicked off after they scored and it went right through the uprights.

They kicked our ass. That was 1999.

About Pujols' hairline: I have a friend who is 23 who is much balder than Pujols, so it can and does happen, although thank god not to me

What do you have to support that other than he is foreign? Maybe you could have advised the Cardinals organization when they signed him to a long contract since I'm sure they didn't research this.

Landon Donovan's going bald too speaking of soccer players. He's probably only 22-23 range.

By the way, seen Boondocks on Adult Swim? Finally got around to watching the first episode, and it kicked ass.

I was on the field with him, but he graduated in 1997 I believe.
He knocked me on my ass a few times during some attempted crack blocks.

No, im talking about Duane, whom plays for the Atlanta Falcons.

But Andrew is a good friend of mine, I lined up on the other side of the ball as the other receiver. I think he was X and i was Z. (Its been awhile). We played football all through little leagues until graduation.

That's who I was talking about is Andrew. He played corner and covered me all game. He was a pretty quick SOB, and was a nice guy.

Blakely went to the same college that I did (Truman St.). He put up great numbers for being the size that he was. I had a class with him and he seemed like a really nice guy.
