View Full Version : Something Positive from Today. Tony G's Record

I haven't saw any comment on a milestone that was achieved today.
Tony G becoming the all time pass yardage reciever in Chiefs history.

Tony G deserves some rep from the Planet faithful.

It's been a pleasure to watch Tony G play in person. I remember so many times watching him in the stands at Arrowhead turning to the person next to me and saying did you see that catch. Jeezz.

He revolutionized the TE position. He will be in the HOF But I'm also sad for Tony G because its looking like he's never going to get a Super Bowl trophy.

At least not with us.

This is a good thread. I salute the best two pass-catchers in the history of the Kansas City Chiefs.

This is just another bitter reminder of how little this group of Chiefs has accomplished. Individual records mean nothing to me.

I started being a "Real" Chiefs fan back in the Joe Montana days.

Some of the best times I've ever had on Sundays at Arrowhead was watching the unbelievable plays that Priest and Tony G made.

There was a few more bright spots. The whole D, cept for Warfield was a bright spot, they only allowed 61 yards rushing.

When does he break Morton or Alexander's record for consecutive games with a dropped pass?

Wafield played well I thought. He got beat on those 2 TD passes, but I don't think any CB in the league could prevent those. The 2nd TD for sure...

Yeah. That's what I was gonna say. Does Gonzo's record improve our playoff tiebreakers or something?

Yep.

On both TDs, you can see that Warfield did not get any help from S. Knight. I think Gun did not give any consideration to Evans because until that game and when JP came in, Evans was non-existance for 8 weeks prior! KC just had a very bad game, and I wanna say that the damn NFL today CBS crew jinxed us, especially Shannon "f**face" Sharpie picking us to win...arrrgghh! :cuss:

Outstanding. I'll be honored to know I've watched his career from the start when it finally ends.

No it doesn't. I think Tony G would be the first to say that he doesn't care about the record. He only cares that we lost.

I was just trying to be positive for my own sanity.

Should have spent our big dollars on a great WR. Pretty sad when a TE is you yardage leader even if if it is a great player like TG.

Ya know.. I think it is ok for a team to pay good money to a guy who led the league in receptions for a year. Especially when he is such a great member of this organization.

It shows how KC hasn't had a dominating WR since Taylor.

The only thing this tells me is that our wide outs have sucked ass for decades. Our all time leading receiver is a ****ing TE.

Edit: sorry stevie, I just read your post.

Carlos Carson and Stephon Paige were both pretty good in their prime. Problem is, they both played for some sorry teams and QB's most of their careers.

What pisses me off is how much the media slurps Hines Ward for being the Steelers all time leading reciever and Tony G barely gets mention. Hines is a terrific reciever, but how hard could it be to be the all time leading reciever on the runningest team in the NFL? Pretty much anyone who plays there long enough could get that record.

The 2nd TD for sure...i don't know about the first td, but on the 2nd one warfield let the guy run right past him with no bump and he played catch up the whole time. looked like he was thinkin it was a run or something. at least jam him at the line!!!! it was a timing route all the way
