Okay, so my wife is visiting her family in Houston.... my local family is going to Iowa for my sister's holiday cooking. Quite frankly I'm not fond of spending time at my sister's home. Been there, done that, never been quite so bored in my entire life.

I'm thinking about hosting a bachelor's Thanksgiving football watching part-ay. I'll fry a turkey and smoke a turkey, maybe. It could be fun. Maybe.

Anybody interested?

Because she's visiting her mother for 10 days. I want no part of that. Plus I have a couple big projects in full swing.

I dunno. Noonish on Thursday. Bring something that goes with turkey. Or not. Just turkey is fine with me, especially when it's prepared on a pit or in peanut oil.

Yeah, bring the acoustic stuff. We'll have a time. Feel free to crash here, too.

Depends on weather and the availability of $20 tickets.

I don't get out of all of them, but they know the deal. I like a lively party. The only time their parties have life is when I show up and get rowdy.

That's the state of a mediocre team. I couldn't even get $20 for some extra tickets to the Skins game. I expect the Pats game to be even worse considering yesterday's showing.

Sell them on Ebay. You'll get more than $20.

What a great invite this could be if I only lived a little closer. It's supposed to be just me and my brother for Thanksgiving, but I found out yesterday that he is trying to get some time off so he can go out to New Mexico with my folks to see my other brother. So I could very well be spending the day alone. Even if I wasn't, this would be cool for the both of us. But 20 hours round trip just isn't going to work with my schedule at this point I'm afraid.

I'm a bigger puss than Raider Hader if that's possible. It's only 8 hours round trip for me. My brothers and sisters all go to the in-laws for Turkey day and my Mom and I have always had dinner together. Well, she passed away two months ago so it's just me this time. I'd jump on it if I lived closer.

You have the ubridled enthusiasm of a kid. I'm an old f*cker. At 25 I would have viewed that trip as an adventure. At 60 it is 8 hours of sheer boredom for one meal. It's amazing how practical you get as you get older. I used to love to drive, now it is a chore. I guess driving a couple of million miles will do that to a guy.

What? There is an "over face value" rule for THIS team? Anybody who can get over face value should be selling high ticket items like corporate jets. And they should be living in Mission Hills.
