He plays hard and with Heart.

Polamalu does seem to always be around the sh*t as it's going down, I'll give you that. Honestly, I hate Vermeil. This team is just a total enigma to me, they never play with any heart when they need to. They just roll over and all Vermeil does is scrunch up his face and look dumbfounded. Just once I'd like to see him tear Green's ass for a stupid play. It could totally turn the team around.

I don't know who is available, all I know is that I have three offseason priorities:

#1: Stud wideout to take pressure off of Gonzo. You combine a No 1 wide reciever with Gonzo and our backs, you've got an explosive offense again.

#2: Left Tackle. Assuming Roaf retires, what we've got is unacceptable. I still don't know why we didn't franchise Tait at the time, he would have been here and ready to step in when needed at LT.

#3: Pass rushing DE. Hicks has needed to be replaced for a loong time now.

not to say those are our only holes, those are just the ones I put priority on. QBOTF, etc are important too...

Extra Point
11-15-2005, 06:51 AM
It would be nice to see 11 players on the offensive end with a dire sense of urgency, and maybe:

Joe Horn and John Tait back, which means Carl Peterson would be out of a job. His ego would not permit those two ever coming back.

Didn't the Colts get him off the street after he was cut by the Browns? Joaquin is an upgrade over Black as anybody is but nothing much. He looks servicable with the Colts because Manning reads defenses so well, audibles into a play that is idea for the defensive scheme and gets the ball where it needs to be quickly so OLineman don't have to pass block long. Unlike our mess where Green isn't allowed to make play adjustements at the line so we are often in bad matchups and he has to hold the ball a long time hoping to get luck and something to develop.

2005 (Freshman): During his first summer of practices, McFadden competed with fellow true freshmen Felix Jones and Michael Smith to see who might play sooner. McFadden took over the starting job in the third game of the season against Alabama, and he earned SEC freshman of the week honors against Auburn and Georgia. He made consecutive starts against Alabama, Louisiana-Monroe, Auburn, Georgia and South Carolina. He exploded onto the national scene at No. 4 Georgia when he rushed for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns on 31 carries. For his efforts in the 23-20 loss, he was named Rivals.com National Freshman of the Week.

Personal: McFadden committed to Arkansas in early April, and he took his official visit to 'the hill' on Jan. 21. He will still be only 17 years old when he plays his first collegiate game. McFadden blew away scouts at the Atlanta NIKE Training Camp in May and justified his ranking with a stellar season and 4.3-second 40-yard dash clocking after 4.3-second 40-yard dash clocking. He is the highest ranked Arkansan by Rivals.com since Shawn Andrews in 2001, drafted No. 16 overall in the latest NFL Draft. Rivals.com regards McFadden as one of only 28 five-star prospects, as the No. 2 'athlete' prospect and as the No. 23 overall prospect in the country. As a senior, he rushed for 1,965 yards and 27 touchdowns (10.7 yards per carry). He led a Hornets team that jumped up in classification and was picked to finish at the bottom of its conference to a 9-3 record and second-round berth in the playoffs. He played running back, quarterback and safety for Oak Grove, and he is the gem of the 2005 Arkansas class. He chose Arkansas over scholarship offers from Tennessee and Alabama.

I'm suprised that anyone else here(that's not in Arkansas) knows about this kid. He is awesome. He's second in YPC to only Reggie Bush(and Arkansas doesn't have anywhere near the QB USC has). I agree. I live in Los Angeles and have seen all of SC games since Carroll took over the reigns.

I think KC missed out on a better Safety, also a product of the USC Trojans - Lofa Tatupu. Seattle drafted him in the 2nd round. I had hope that CP draft him last year - when he was passed up by every team in the first round but Seattle took him with the 13th pick in the 2nd round.

Let's see if CP would look at some tapes on the next SC Safety that could be another awesome player and hitter - Darnell Bing! If he turns pro in 2006 draft...

Isn't Holt locked up long term w/ the Rams??

I tend to think that Polamalu is overrated. He's a decent hitter, but he can't do much else, IMO.

Troy Polamalu is far from overrated, have you seen this guy play. Most defensive plays, he is involved in making the tackle, deflecting the pass, this guy even sacks the QB. Polamalu is far from "overrated", one of the best DB's playing in the league right now, if not the best!
