I'll say Roaf because we have a little more depth in the defensive line with Carlos Hall, John Browning, and possible Ryan Sims coming back.

roaf

Roaf without question.

With Allen out, we lose Allen. With Roaf out, we lose Roaf and Green gets so jumpy that he isn't much account either.

That's like asking "sex or beer"?

Roaf by far. Without Roaf we are stuck with Jordan Black who gives up far more sacks than Jarred Allen could ever think about getting. Without Allen our D would get by. We've seen what happens without Roaf and it ain't pretty.

Allen.

The O got by without Roaf.

Allen is the only real pass rush threat on our D IMO.

Here's the head to head... stats of games started by each LT. And this is with Roaf coming out of a couple games early...namely the Jets game in week 1 when we were rolling them.

Black - 345.8 yds/game
23.2 ppg (18.8 ppg if you remove the Texans)
3-3 record

Roaf - 392.6 yds/game
26.2 ppg
4-1 record

it's a tough choice, but Allen is seriously our playmaker on D and we are lucky to have him. Allen pretty much won the game against Washington for us, but Roaf is very hard to replace too, Allen is easier to replace.......hmmmmm.................I don't know

Trent's three highest passing yardage totals were all with Roaf starting. Three of his four highest QB efficiency ratings for a single game are with Roaf starting... and the one that wasn't was the Texans game. He's thrown 1 INT in the 5 games Roaf has started, and 6 INT in the games Black has started.

Trent's stats when each guy starts at LT.

Roaf (5 gms): 154-100, 65%, 1340 yds, 4 TD, 1 INT
98.4 QB rating

Black (6 gms): 206-124, 60%, 1354 yds, 7 TD, 6 INT
78.8 QB rating

What? No, I'm serious. That stat really wows me.

Compile the running stats.

Okay, the running game in when each guy starts:

Roaf (5 gms) - 141 yds/gm, 8 TD

Black (6 gms) - 135.7 yds/gm, 7 TD
(Minus Texans blowout) - 117.6 yds/gm, 5 TD

And really, the two times the Priest/LJ combo really worked great were the Jets and Dolphins games... Roaf started both.

We haven't seen a game without Jared Allen (not that I want to see a game without him). We don't actually know how well the defense would play without him. Many people are also telling me he headed to Hawail this year. PBJ
