What do ya'll use for virus protection? I know there are some free ones out there. What does the Planet recommend? My CPU was hit by a couple when I was in the desert.
FWIW, it's great to be back in the free world.

AVG is good, ran it for a couple of years. I'm running Avast right now, and haven't had any problems with it, either.

Another vote for AVG here. Just be sure to goolge "free avg" or you won't find it on their site!

Click and download will begin. Been using it for at least 2 or more years. It is great.

Count me in for Avast. I had used AVG for almost 5 years, but Avast is much better.

Virus database is more robust, it's updated more often, and the inline protection is better.

Put it this way:

AVG would occasionally spot viruses during system scans that it missed with active protection.

Avast NEVER finds viruses during system scan. In fact, it's so good with active protection, that I've disabled Spybot S&D's active component to save system resources. I only run scans with it now.
