Zona's getting thrashed. Houston lost to VCU at Hofheinz earlier. Doubleyewteeeff?!

24-6 Coogs, twelve minutes in.

Of course, as soon as I even THINK of making this thread, Arizona wakes up. 26-14 with 6 minutes left in the half.

29-25 now... Totally Coug'n it.

I'm not blaming myself for this one. UH sucks.

Nice going. You just jinxed them. Heh heh.I would be more disappointed if their fans weren't such twats.

They sure look like a team that can run with Memphis and UAB.

On another note, I knew that Wendy's commercial seemed familiar.

What were you saying?

29-27 at halftime.

What were you saying?

Doubleyewteeeff?!In all honesty, I pretty much expected this. Houston simply cannot run their "offense." If they ever figure that out, they might be pretty good.

UH has scored more in the first three and a half minutes of the second half than they did in the last seven and a half of the first. Of course, that's just 5 points to 3 points...

Arizona is going to struggle for a while this year. As we always do, we've played a very challenging schedule. We implemented a brand new motion offense that relies upon timing and smart guard play. In order for it to be really effecitve, we need to be able to shoot pretty well. Our best shooting player (Jawann McClellan) is out until December, and our Wooden Award canddiate power-forward (Hassan Adams) is trying to learn how to play shooting guard for the first time in his career.

All that is to say that our shooting is for shit, our offense is for shit and our chances at winning any given game are for shit... until we correct some of this.

I've been impressed with Houston so far, and they will be disruptive for lots of teams that they play this year.

Sweet basket. Gets undercut falls to the ground, and still makes it. Not only is it 43-34, but Hassan Adams just picked up his fourth foul with 12 minutes left. HYuge.

Lafayette for three! 46-34 Coogs.

I've been impressed with Houston so far, and they will be disruptive for lots of teams that they play this year. They're a weird team. Probably a solid #3 in C-USA, though, with maybe UTEP challenging them. All of the godawful teams at the bottom will probably make it hard for us to get more than two teams into the dance this year, and I doubt Houston's got enough to get past UAB, but they should have a nice year.

They are going to be a streaky team... Who looks good at times and bad at others. You'll see that pattern both within games and throughout the season. They'll beat good teams and lose to horrid teams... all depending on how their shots are falling.

Wow. Airball, then a great save and a nice finish inside. 51-38.

They're playing damn hard, I'll give them that.

Oh, good God. UH fans with the "overrated" chant.

As much as this conference needs every bit of help it can afford, I almost hope they blow it, just out of principal. Ten minutes left and you're BEGGING them to come back and kick your asses.

They beat a decent (but far from impressive) #25 LSU team on the road, after losing to a far from good (but not godawful) VCU team at home.

Well, no, but he's matched his threes on the day.

Houston can bring that "OMG WE BEATTED YUO LAST YEAR" shit all they want, but this time around, it's in our house and we are LIGHT YEARS ahead of where we were last year. We sucked for the vast majority of last season. Funny thing is, we still finished ahead of them in the standings and had more wins (in addition to going farther in the NIT, unfulfilling as it was). In addition, they may have beaten UL at Hofheinz, but in case this idiot announcer forgot, as bad as we were, we smoked their asses by 18 at Freedom Hall.

Speaking of Memphis and Houston, the Grizz are up 34-13 in the second quarter. ROFL

There's that Wendy's commercial again.

They started that after UH made their first basket and Arizona was at the free-throw line...

Yes, when the score was 2-0 with 30 seconds gone in the first half, UH fans were chanting "over rated"...

Win or lose, that's just stupid fans.

Six-point game...

Sweet shot by Lafayette. 25 on the night.

Make that 27. Wow.

Holy crap, another quick score for Houston. 66-54 in a flash.

And now a quick turnover the other way, Zona back to within 8.

Yet another six point swing. Hilarious. Now a two/three-possession game with under a minute left.

WHAT WAS THAT???

Some days you just can't win, no matter how well you play defense.

That was the worst, most forced 3 point shot I've seen and it went in!

Congrats to the UH team.

Oh my God. Houston breaks the press and gets an easy two.

But they redeem themselves with the inexplicably good three!

Fun finish on this one.

That was the worst, most forced 3 point shot I've seen and it went in!It really was.

So, 9 seconds left... hang on, UH.

And that should do it.

69-65.

Fun game.

But as happy as Houston is, they're not the first C-USA team to beat two Top-25 teams in a row this year. :D
