View Full Version : How fortunate were we that....

The 4th down challenge happened before the 2-minute warning. That play probably doesn't get challenged if it's the booth's call (even though it was obvious he was short), and Denver keeps driving the ball.

Do we win if that happens?

oh no shit... 2:01 left on clock IIRC. huge. They thought they got it right... obviously they didnt.

The refs kinda sucked today.

No shit. I hate how they went to commerial and when they got back they were like, "oh by the way this was challenged by KC".

"Please reset the game clock to 2:01. Thank you."

No, THANK YOU!!!

That line judge took a full step to his right when he approached the pile. That was utter BS. And yes, you are probably right that it wouldn't get a replay from the booth.

The booth would have looked at it anyway I think. Arrowhead was imploding at that spot.

I said in the game thread that it was a good half yard short. It was.

I don't know.

That was clearly a mistake by the line judge, at a crucial point in the game, and the officials in the booth are watching replays.

I think they would have sent down a challenge.

I think that we are more fortunate that Denver had 1st and goal from our 6 yard line and decided to run up the middle 3 times and kick a fg.

Vermiel said in his post game that the ref threw his flag be fore vermiel said something to him about a challenge. Can the ref on the field make a call to have it looked at from the booth?

They threw it once and it was incomplete.

He didn't say the Ref threw his flag. He said one of the Chiefs personel threw the red flag. Mike something or other.

That is our stealth advantage going down the stretch. The rest of the league and most of the handicap pundits, haven't figured out we have a run D this year.

Mike White. He's the one in charge of challenges.

(how he's kept that job for 5 years I'll never know...)

Nope:

1-6-KC6 (5:11) R.Dayne left tackle to KC 5 for 1 yard (J.Browning).
2-5-KC5 (4:27) R.Dayne up the middle to KC 4 for 1 yard (K.Mitchell, E.Hicks).
3-4-KC4 (3:47) M.Anderson up the middle to KC 4 for no gain (E.Hicks).
4-4-KC4 (3:12) J.Elam 22 yard field goal is GOOD, Center-M.Leach, Holder-J.Plummer.

I don't understand why they ran it 3 times. They did something similar in KC in 2003 and it probably cost them the game.

Denver still ran well though - 29 carries for 131 yards with a 4.5 avg, 2 TDs and the longest run was 15 yards. So, there wasn't an odd 50 yard dash shooting the #'s up.

Denver didn't have a 100 yard rusher, but there were numerous times when they were sustaining drives with the ground game. KC held up well down the stretch.

Sorry but the Refs sucked huge balls today, only calling penalties that took a td away from us or helped the Donkeys in some way. It was so obvious the league told them they want the Donkeys to win. The Refs can lick my nutsack!!!

Inability to go deep in the second half is what killed you. 5 yards per attempt won't win many games.

two for two on challenges today. That is something new.
