It's going to be a close one. The Jaguars only play to the level of their competition. That said, I can't believe I'm saying this, Go Colts!

They will beat the jags, and that puts even more importance on us beating the Cowboys. We just have to keep winning overall, obviously.

Go back and look at the Jags history against the Colts the last 2-3 years. You might want to rethink that bet. The Jags tend to match up very well with them and usually play them close. They've won a few as well.

As of October 16th the Jags only play one team with a winning record the rest of the year. Serious cellar dwellers are actually giving them good games. I'll make a prediction right now. Indy by 24

Thanks for the update. That won't matter. I have watched the Jags play this season and I am just totally unimpressed. Squeeking by the Titans followed up with very unimpressive wins of the Cardinals and Cleveland. Leftwich is out and the Colts look WAY better than they did when they started the season slow. This thing has blowout written all over it.

Do you place your bets on the web, and if so what sites do you use? Also how much = "ranch", not really interested in dollar amounts, more in percentage of yearly income/savings...

I could never justify betting an amount I can't afford to lose, even if I'm very confident in the outcome.

But if your metaphorical ranch is a summer home or something, and not really that important in the long run... go for it!

Since realignment, the Colts would have only won that bet 1 time out of 7.

2005 - Colts 10-3
2004 - Colts 24-17, Jax 27-24
2003 - Colts 23-13, Jax 28-23
2002 - Colts 28-25, Colts 20-13

I will be at the game his Sunday. Should be a good game for a while, but I see the Colts defense shutting down Garrard in the second half. They won't let him run around and will likely force him to beat them with his arm. With Leftwich, I think that J'ville had a chance, but without him and Fred Taylor, I think the Colts win by at least 2 scores.

It actually might be better for us if Jacksonville were to win this game. If the Colts win this week, they will clinch HFA throughout the playoffs and could possibly rest some of their players in their next game at home against San Diego. I think San Diego is the team that we have to worry about beating to get into the playoffs. With Jacksonville's weak schedule the rest of the way(San Fran 2-10, Houston 1-11 & Tennessee 3-9), we likely won't catch them this year. If Indy were to beat San Diego in 2 weeks, we would only have to win our last 2 home games to make the playoffs(assuming Pittsburgh loses 1 more game this year). If we were to get into the playoffs as a wild card team, it's very possible we could play Cincinnati 2 weeks in a row.

I think it will, they've got a good front 4 and are one of the better defenses in yards per pass attempt.

It seems strange to suggest that Jax could beat the Colts with their backup QB and RB, but neither of those guys are chumps and probably deserve to start somewhere in the league.

**edit - Taylor is probable I guess.

They barely came back to beat the friggen Browns. The struggled with the Cardinals and Titans too. Their QB is making his 4th NFL start. I still say Colts by 24. I have zero respect for this Jags team especially after watching them play some of their games including the loss to the Lambs.

I could see that, but I could also see the Colts going up by 10 and keeping it close to the vest the rest of the game. These two teams seem to have a weird effect on each other like the Chiefs and Raiders do.

I certainly hope you win the bet and the Colts obliterate them though, it would be good for us.

I hope they destroy them so completely they don't recover and lose more games against the cellar dwellers they play all season. This Jags team does not belong in the playoffs period.

Yea a gimpy FT will make all the difference. Well that's why they play the game. That's why they call it gambling too. I know this much it's not just the $$$$ I have riding on it that will hurt if this doesn't happen. I have convinced a bunch of people to bet on this game too some of them pretty significantly.

I think Jacksonville's defense is going to have a good day. I don't think the Colts are going to score a ton of points, if you'd asked me for a prediction, I'd say Colts win 20-14 or something like that. The question is can the Jags offense score. Jacksonville usually has an excellent gameplan for the Colts, we'll see.

I look at old trends but give more credence to recent ones. We will have to see a whole new Jags team for them to be even remotely close. One we have not seen for some time now. This is the only team they have played with a winning record since October 16th. After watching them choke on in the Lambs game like a 16 year old girl trying to deep throat for the first time I have been patiently waiting for this game to happen. There has been nothing since that game to make me believe they will be any better. These are two teams going in different directions IMO. If they had to play anyone but cellar dwellers this is a .500 team at best.

I have a pretty good record. Every year I win it's just a matter of how much. I could be wrong that's why they call it gambling. The only way I am wrong though is if the Jags have just been bored into hoffific play due to the fact that their schedule is so flippen easy. If all of the sudden they are the Jags of old he could be right. I just say there is like an 85% chance of that not being the case and they really are a bad team JMO.
