He said Butch Davis had come up for the HC job at KC and Houston. Said DV was about 60/40 he wouldn't come back. But we all kind of knew that part about it.

Good or not, I kind of think AS will get the job.

I heard Nick Athan hired Phil to be head coach of the Chiefs next year.

Unless the Chiefs implode over the next four weeks, I think Vermeil will return.

And if we hired someone like Butch Davis, you can be sure he'd have absolutely no say on offense. No way do we let someone like him ticker with it.

I'm not going to bash Phil, cause I think he is a good guy. But until Athan improves I have no problem slamming him.

It's not Phil's fault Nick hired him to become head coach.

Hopefully Phil keeps the offense intact.

Based on the draft picks alone of the Butch Davis era in Cleveland, I would not want him in KC. The man can clearly not draft worth a damn.....well come to think of it, he might fit right in....

Btch Davis?
Were Glanville and Mora unavailable?

I think we should make a move on Haslet, the guy is obviously great. No way the Saints hold onto someone who has done that little unless he is really great.

We should hold off and see if Rich Brooks or MArty Morningwheg become available.

This talk began at River Falls when Vermeil had Davis in to talk to the team after a practice one day. :shake:

Good grief, there are better canidates out there than that

Based on Butch Davis' draft picks in Cleveland imagine a draft war room with Butch Davis AND Carl Peterson

I'd be gladly to kick Mort's balls for even mentioning it.

Butch Davis sucks

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this but I wouldn't mind Jim Mora Sr. as the Chiefs head coach, he wouldn't be bad. We would also get some great PC's when we tanked a season.

I imagine it has happened other times, but the only time we've ever heard about Carl overruling his coach on draft day, he took some guy named Larry Johnson.

Hmmm, I wonder what ever happened to that guy? :hmmm:

Make fun of Butch Davis' draft all you want, but there isn't a single person that would have wanted the Chiefs to pass on Couch, Brown, Warren or probably even William Green at the time. He took a bunch of top prospects out of college, that any team would have taken if given the chance.

Personally, I'm more inclined to say he sucks at player development to not get any results from all those high picks. Certainly he never handled the Couch situation very well.

I'm not a big fan of having him coach here, but questioning his drafts may be unwarranted.

Very good point, although I never thought highly of Couch coming out of college.

Me either. I thought he was one of those prospects that's in a QB system (I.E. Texas Tech = Kliff Kingsbury)

I never understood why Butch Davis passed on Clinton Portis in the draft.

And I'd just as soon dip my nutsack in a pool full of piranha than have Butch Davis as our next head coach.

OK, I wouldn't go that far.
I'd rather have Davis as coach.

But, hey, whatever gets your rocks off.
