Chiefs at Cowboys: If you pressure Drew Bledsoe, you can beat the Cowboys. He'll fumble. He'll force passes. He'll get happy feet.

No, Captain Obvious hasn't returned. Even the mud farmers of Elbonia know the scouting report on Drew Bledsoe. But Dallas' emphasis on pass protection has kept most opponents from breathing down Bledsoe's neck. Until last week, that is, when the Giants defensive line, led by Michael Strahan, Kendrick Clancy, and Osi Umenyiora, harassed Bledsoe without help from blitzing linebackers. At one point, linebacker Carlos Emmons told teammate Antonio Pierce that "we can't even make a play because the defensive line is making all the plays."

The Chiefs' defensive front can't apply that kind of heat; only Jared Allen is a true sack threat. So coordinator Gunther Cunningham will do what he loves to do: bring the blitz. The Cowboys will counter with maximum protection, and Terry Glenn will have a big day if he consistently draws single coverage.

Bledsoe knows what's coming.

"Teams are going to continue to blitz us as they blitz everyone else," he said before Sunday's loss. "We are going to have to make teams pay when they play us that way. When they choose to pressure us with everyone at the line of scrimmage, we are going to have to make big plays against that stuff."

The Cowboys will make the Chiefs pay this week, but they need to solve their problems on the offensive line before traveling to face the Redskins and Panthers.

Browsing the columns around the net, Bob Dole has yet to find a columnist that picks KC to win this week.

Bob Dole sure hopes we can get some interior line push and prove them all wrong.

Isn't this like the first week all year where we have
all of our defensive linemen healthy and good to go?
Sims and Hall have barely played together yet but are expected to and could be a bigger factor than these guys are thinking.

Dallas won't run the ball.

If Bledsoe has to throw it 40 times, we'll win.

Allen may be the 'only' sack threat, but if Sims starts to generate a push in the middle, that's one hell of a threat. Sims looked pretty good in the Denver game and their line is no pushover.

I seem to remember reading/hearing that out in Oakland, Kerry Collins was as nervous as a whore in church. Worring about a blitzing Chiefs D that never came

We will be wearing our home uniforms. We have won 17 straight while wearing them in December. We will win.

Plummer made a couple of plays under a lot of pressure from the dline last week that Bledsoe doesn't have the capability of making. I like our chances.

And if you put pressure up the middle on Bledsoe, he will make mistakes. He wont always make mistakes with pressure from the sides.

Exactly. With Sims showing the ability and emotion that he has since coming back, and Eric Hicks looking like the second coming last week  our line could be better than people think. Jared Allen just gets better and better, Dalton showed some fire against Denver, and Carlos Hall is a playmaker when healthy. They're not exactly pro-bowlers, but they look more and more like a solid bunch.
