Poll coming. Don't trip.

Ah, there is a poll here! I'll just slide down it safely to the ground.

Rain Man

Oooh. A fire pole. That would've been a good option. Not sure where it would've fit in the binary order, though.

Dudes talking about poles just isn't right

I've jumped 50 feet into water. What's an extra 14?

So did any of the cops follow you, or were you able to get away?

5,096, using your own parachute.

That one was easy because I have had several jumps. :)

Not yet, I'm still working on it! :)

I'll take "fall into the gutter out behind the bar, then pass out in a puddle of my own sick"

I agree, we should hear more of this story

8 feet onto concrete, I have a fear of heights

Rain Man
12-27-2005, 11:06 AM
I went with the 8-foot fall, too. The parachuting may be the safest, but not if I was paralyzed by fear while having a heart attack the whole way down.

The only other alternative I pondered, was 256 feet into the fireman's landing pad. I could probably do that if I had to, but I'd rather just dump myself 8 feet onto concrete.

if you ever fell 8 feet onto concrete, then you'd hate concrete

Many of these don't seem too bad.

In order of preference:

8 ft onto concrete
64 ft into water
5096 with parachute

With a some discussion with experts, I'd consider the 256-ft fireman pad and 2048 ft jump with a trained parachuter.

For some reason I just don't like the whole bungee idea.

What about fall ass-first onto fusilli Jerry?

They were easier to avoid than the alligators.

I already have, broke my hand in the process - I'd still take that over the heights falling, anyday

Is the concrete still wet?

I think I will just come down the stairs.

I'm 5'11, so if I hang fully extended off of the 8 ft ridge that means my feet are dangling only 2'1 above the concrete. :D

8 Ft on to concrete. Done that.

The water. I've done 45 Ft at Johnson Shut-ins. Don't land wrong.

Now that is none existent, dam broke.

Jumping 8 feet onto concrete would be like dunking a basketball and pulling your head above the rim and falling on your back. It would scrape the crap out of your back, maybe do more. So I would rather do the 8 feet concrete thing.

Ive jumped off a 20 foot bridge into 4 feet of water before. That was flipping fun. Ive also done it with a foot of water too, that kinda hurt but it was also fun.

8 foot fall, not fall from 8 feet.

If you are 6 feet tall, it's like holding onto a pole that is 14 feet off the ground and letting go.

I'm the only one taking the Bungee Jump? Suprise.

I've done the sky diving, so bungee jump it is... Next would be the 256 bldg into the fireman air cushion.

So it sounds like you view the back scraping positively.

I've fallen off my roof before. That was probably about 12 feet or so. Wasn't that bad of a fall, just a nasty knee bruise.

I'd take the 16 onto grass.

I've done most of them.
8' on concrete? Done it.
20' on grass? done it.
28' through a bush? Done it.
64' into water? Done it.
Down a mountain side? Nope.
Bungee? Yep.
Concrete to my death? Nope.
Skydive tandem? Yep.
Skydive solo? Nope.
