Elvis Grbac was selected by the 49ers in the 7th round of the 1993 draft, with the 219th pick. Trent Green was drafted three picks later by the Chargers.

For some reason, I always thought that Elvis had been a higher pick, and I didn't know that he and Trent were drafted so close together.

hmmmm, so you are saying that 2 QBs to be picked in the 7th round of the NFL draft in 1993, 12 years ago. Have at one time received huge contracts from the Chiefs? Have both started for the Chiefs? While Grbac was a fraud and that Trent Green is a God????? what????

An even more interesting (and almost eerie), little known fact:

Trent Green wears a helmet at work.
Elvis Grbac wears a paper hat at work.

Im right Green was drafted in the 8th round, 222nd overall of the 1993 nfl draft.

Ah. My source had a typo. They were both drafted in the eighth round, not the seventh round.

That's even more amazing!

The only other QB drafted in that round was Alex Van Pelt, who also started for KC as a backup at one point, if I remember right.

Wow. People talk about the quarterback class of 1983, but I think the class of 1993 deserves attention as well.

Is Alex Van Pelt related to Bradlee Van Pelt?

Every one seems to forget, Green was also the Chief's 1st round pick in 2000. That was a mid round pick I believe.(Trade)

So really he is an 8th round and a 1st round pick.

Thats really raising your stock isn't it.

Does anyone/everyone remember the interview that Elvis gave the local papers after he signed with Baltimore?

His comment was that he made Tony Gonzalez what he was at that time. His indication was that his passing made Tony the tight end that he had become on his own.

On hearing that a semi-Chiefs fan replied:

Yeah, right...Half the player he could have been with a QB that could throw to his recievers.

For a semi-fan this guy hit the nail squarely on the head...which is also the reason that Elvis now wears a tinfoil hat to work daily.

No no no, Grbac does not even wear a hat, he has a balls sack hanging from his chin.

Thats how he makes money!

Carl offered a Grbac tons more money than Baltimore did. Luckily for us, Grbac was an idiot, and thought KC fans were too tough on him.

I always found it amazing that Mark Brunell was drafted in the 5th round (by the Packers). A south-paw with a cannon for an arm and pretty mobile, he was an awsome QB back in his prime and still isn't bad.

Now what about Elvis Green and Trent Bono?
