Yes I am, in a novelty type of way. When I lived there it was different. Maybe ate there one to three times a year but now down here I kinda crave em. For lunch though. Dinner i'll probably have to go to Manny's or Jack Stacks...

It's a place you take your dates before you are in a serious relationship. You start off with the expensive places before your "going out" consists of ordering off the dollar menu at Wendys.

Eh, late at night, been-drinking munchies....that kinda of an appetite isn't worth spending good money on. Besides, they serve as a laxative....to help purge your system the next day. They don't call 'em "sliders" for nothing.... :)

Went to KC two weeks ago, here are the results:

Arrived Friday evening:
Dinner at Milano. Salads were like lettuce and dressing soup. Wait staff was AWOL. Trndogrl got sick while we were there, I didn't get sick until about an hour later. Big kudos to the toilets at the Hyatt for handling the results of that catastrophe.

Saturday:

Brunch at the Hyatt. Nice spread and good service. Biscuits and gravy were awesome.

Afternoon drinks and appetizers at Spectators in the Hyatt. Food was OK, but the Chiefs inability to tackle made me ill.

Dinner was Prime Rib at the Majestic (trndogrl had the filet) both were outstanding as was the wine, and sides. Thought I made a big mistake when I walked in, much more fun downstairs. Decent live jazz.

Went to Skies (rotating atop the Hyatt) for drinks and desert after dinner. Coffee drinks were good. Was seated right next to the piano. (huh?)

Sunday:

Breakfast at First Watch. Mmmmm, Western Omlette, Trndogrl had pancakes. Proof that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Seated quickly and very good service.

Westport Flea Market food is gross. It is like hot lunch at public school dipped in cold grease. The nachos have the plastic cheese and tacobell meat. Its a cool place for a beer and live music but thats as far as I will go. JMO

Jack Stack used to be my favorite, maybe still is. They have a nice atmosphere. If you want the exact same food for a real good price, go to smoke stack (about 85th and wornall) the place is kind of cheesy but the food is almost exactly the same.

I can't believe none of you heathens mentioned Gojos - an excellent Japanese steak house in the Plaza area. It's like Benihana's (you sit around a grill and the chef cooks in front of you), except it blows Benihana's away (and I really like Benihana's). Fairly pricy, but well worth it. Plus the chefs put on a great show. The guy that cooked for us last time lit stuff on fire and caught it in his hat while it was burning. That was a neat trick.

I like the filet and lobster. Yum-yum.
