I don't care what anyone else thinks, but I would want no other player than Trent Green leading this team. Yeah, he's getting older, but the guy is a warrior and came back against all odds to become one of the best - and most selfless - of the QB's of this era.

Trent is the epitome of a true sportsman. We'll be lucky to find someone with as much heart as him in the near or even distant future.

He should lead this team, but we need to find a Qbotf this offseason thru draft or trade... That and did anybody else see all his grey hair... Damn he is looking old, he needs to comb some of that gel back into his hair...

Definitely.

We should be grooming a good young QB under him in his time remaining with the team. I'm just continually impressed with Green year after year. He's really come into his own since he was widely known as "TrINT" only a few seasons ago. I'm confident that he'll have a great season next year, too. :)

I couldn't agree more. He made some great blocks today and even better passes. EK dropped a perfect spiral that hit his hands that could have been big. But our receivers dropping passes is nothing new. I think he has 3 or 4 more years.

I've converted a few people into Trent Green fans just based on his blocking...and the people in my Yahoo FFL this year know what the ****ing deal is now:

http://home.kc.rr.com/mkbaslee/tglb.jpg

I'm still debating which is the better Trent Green lead block:

2002 vs Miami, Priest cuts back on a run, and for 20 yards, Trent Green is running in front of him. Then Arturo Freeman decides he wants to test Trent's gangster. Result? Freeman face down ass up on the turf while Priest struts into the endzone.

2003 vs Buffalo. No explaination needed. Nate Clements simply got taken out of the equation. Sure, Trent absorbed some punishment, but it was Nate who will have to turn off the tv any time that replay is shown, or have his family question not only his intestinal fortitude, but his sexual orientation.

Agreed. Huge heads-up play by Parker, along with good execution.

Trent should be coaching the o-line. When he makes a block, it's a pancake. When I saw Trent lead-blocking, I was watching him, not the ball, because I've come to expect great entertainment when Trent nails a defender.

I'd throw DeBerg ahead of Montana on my list.

Hard for me to overcome my disdain for all things 49ers, but I did finally come to appreciate what Montana did while he was here.

I did think of DeBerg when I posted that too. Who can forget the pin sticking out of his finger when he still played and finished the season? He comes in as a close second in my book. And then Montana.

Let me look into making a longer version.

If you want to make your own, you need two things:

1. Video of the play

2. A program that can convert that video to gif form while hopefully enabling you to crop, resize and resample the colors so you can get the file size down under a meg (which is what I do, since I use imageshack).

I of course use DRU's video highlights and Jasc Animation Shop 3.

Hope you have a beefy PC.

Meh. I saw John Elway block Charles Haley.

Then he turned around and did a sweep-kick to the DT's face, snapping his neck. While he was falling down to the field, already dead, Elway grabbed him by the jaw and screamed,"Say my name! Say my name, bitch!" and sure enough a sound came out of the DT's mouth kind of like,"Jhon Ewellwayyyy".
