Apparently, says Vermiel, Carl Peterson is the best in the business, and Superbowls aren't the standard by which GMs should be measured.

From the Vermiel retirement press conference:

"The trouble today is that everything is evaluated on whether you won a Superbowl or not to determine whether you're the best in the business. Believe me, that's not the number one criteria. It's the easiest [to use] for those that don't know what they're doing to evaluate, but Carl has done everything he possibly could to help us win within the organization here. To be able to share five -- The great thing about me an Carl is we'll share our whole life. We've been sharing it. (pointing to the back of the room) *whimper* Laurie back there. We've got so many more years to share. And now I'm -- Come here Jack! I'm going to share some time with this guy. Here's Jack Vermiel, ya know? I've got two older than him. Two of 'em in college but, I'm going to be a better coach at home."

Once again, the Chiefs organization reminds us fans that we don't know anything about football.

I haven't heard Hicks name called three times this season. Why do they think he is so great?

Nothing from you hurts me.

Oh, for f*cks sake...

You usually heap praise on your coworkers when you are leaving. It's called being a good human being.

Secondly, CP is a lot better than most morons give him credit for. This team has never been a disaster since he's been in charge, and has had a couple of decent chances at a Super Bowl...We could have much, much worse...

Does anybody knows the quote Herm Edwards is famous for???????????

Herm Edwards - "We Play to win the game."

Which seems contrary to what DV said b/c if one is playing to win the game and is successful in that pursuit then the team would be in a position to make a run at the Superbowl.
