I think he'd stay under a guy like Herm or Capers.

Some of the other names (like a college coach) I don't know...

I don't want him as DC, either.

Gun and Al are friends. That doesn't mean they are going to want to work together, but this BS about how they don't get along is just BS.

Gun's a free agent. He may get a better offer elsewhere.

AS and GC have had diffrences in the past. AS wanted the HC that Gun got. AS and CP have had their run ins.....

I see CP hiring outside the nest and ramming Gun down the new HC's throat.

That's what I see......... Not what I want to see.

Where is all of this coming from.

I am having trouble understanding how all these CP members have all these inside tracks on the nature of relationships between different coaches and people within the organization.

No shit. Some of these people watch too much daytime TV.

It's a little odd that Gun is on the sidelines, too. My gut feeling is that they don't get along, but that is pure conjecture. Take it a like an Athan rumor I guess.

With all the talk about Saunders, is Gunther even being considered? Is he even HC material?

Dude, I would never make Gun HC.

Look at the very mediocre run he had as HC in 99/2000.

Plus, it took him two years to make a dent in the D. Sure the second half of the season #'s were better, making me wonder if the learning/development curve is long and shallow, it would make me CONSIDER keeping him around. Personality/politics aside.
SO, I say. HC: no-way Jose
Keep: possible
Far away: possible

As of today the only one under contract to the Chiefs is Solari. Every one else is a UFA.

AS would not stay in KC when Gun got the HC job. AS and Gun can work together thru another HC, but neither wants to work for each other. At least this was mentioned back when Marty left.

Maybe the patch work has been done..... I really don't know......

He stays ad DC. He brought this Defense up to #16 in scorting Defense, and it would have been better if the officials hadn't been ****ing them over all season. Considering the circumstances, this Defense could have been top 10 if a few things had fallen their way. He STAYS as DC..

"A few things" being Shaun Rogers, Ed Reed, and Dwight Freeney.

Don't you all remember the stories about Cunningham two years ago, about how he had no interest in being a HC anymore, but would much rather be D coordinator? I highly doubt he is interested. I say hire Al, promote Shea or Solari to OC.

BTW they are talking about Air Coryell on ESPN Classic Right now.

Are you sure it wasn't simply that Al got passed over for Gun at that time, after already being passed over for OC when Marty promoted Jimmy Raye?

Gun and Al have a long history together.

Wow. That's scary. Hopefully we keep as much as the staff as possible. 10-6 with the #1 Offense is nothing to apologize for. Who knows what would have been had LJ been starting all year? Perhaps the Buffalo and Philly games could have been won?

I was convinced that Gun needed to go after the first Denver game. When I can figure out what Denver's going to do but he can't, well, something really, really wrong with that.

Had they played more consistantly they would have had a top 10 defense in ppg allowed. Had they played the second half of the Philly game like they did the first, had the refs not ****ed them over several times against Dallas, and had they not forgotten how to tackle against the Giants, They at least would have had a top 13 D in ppg allowed, maybe top 10. Havn't looked up the stats yet.
