Just came back from watching the game at a sportsbar. Always nice to be embarrassed in public http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/mad.gif Damn Raiders! Damn Gannon! http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/mad.gif Damn JQ! http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/mad.gif

At least we showed up, but not enough. Our biggest problems that I saw:

1. Complete and utter failure by our defense to stop Gannon's rushes. He pretty much single-handedly beat us. You'd think we'd know how to defense this guy by now. Really, really sad.

2. Key drops by our WRs - especially Morris. Elvis did a great job, but what had been spectacular catches turned into spectacular misses this week - 2 really bad ones for Morris and one for Gonzo.

3. The Morris fumble. I appreciate that he was trying to get extra yards, but you gotta hold onto the ball. That friggin fumble was a back-breaker.

4. MISSED FG! http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/mad.gif Good job, numbnuts - miss the first one you kick for us. Picking up right where Stoyo left off. What a joke.

Both teams played well, and it was a good game. We had zero luck - the football gods did not smile on us today.

Well, hopefully we'll get them in Oakland.

Yeah, I get to bask in victory a whole 3 weeks.... idiot schedule makers!

1) I can attest to the fact it is difficult to defense a QB that can move... I've seen quite a few people calling Gannon "noodle arm" and such, but I thought he played very well.... Awesome arm strength is not needed in this offense... Montana didn't exactly have a cannon..... Besides Jeffy George had a rocket for an arm, but we all know how defenses feasted on his immobile *** .

2) Gonzo killed us in the first half when we guarded him with Pope... We finally smartened up and played him like a WR in the second with cover two....
For the life of me, I can't figure out why KC doesn't run Morris in motion like we do with Brown or the Niners do with Owens....

Actually, about Montanna, I heard that in his first practice with the Chiefs, he fired a couple to recievers that knocked the wind out of them...

I thought when a team faced another team with a QB that runs a LB would shadow the QB. Why didn't that happen?<P>

I was wondering the same thing, bkkcoh. I don't know if they felt they needed all the LB to guard against the RBs or if they just flat out missed it. This was a pretty bad blunder, though.

You hit the nail on the head, JQ - Gannon beat us with his feet, not his arm, but his arm was good enough when it needed to be - that last touchdown was a thing of beauty (or would have been against someone else, anyway). He's definitely on a mission to stick getting passed over up our a$$es. But at least he's doing it with class.

I still think we made the right decision keeping Grbac. You can't pin this loss on him - he didn't let Gannon run wild, fumble the ball or drop key passes.
