Good for them.

That's what I said they should do in the Vick thread I started last week.

Va Tech distinguishing themselves from thugvilles like Florida State and Miami.

Good to know not everyone in the ACC is a peice of sh!t.

But he shouldn't be able to play for anyone, anywhere.

Pretty surprised that it resulted in dismissal but it was definitely deserved.

From what I have heard on the radio this is about more than just what happened in the bowl game. He was also arrested for driving on a suspended license early in the season. He has also been cited for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and on a different ocassion he was pulled over and had pot in the car. This kid has a lot of issues, this was just the straw that broke the Hokies back.

I did not see the on-the-field incident, but when I heard others talking about it, my thought was that Va Tech would not have the gumption to do the right thing (of course, the righter thing would have been to bench him immediately). Kudos to Va Tech for setting more of a precedent of what will and will not be tolerated.

Yeah, I just did, but the link I found isn't working for me for some reason.

What do you mean late? This decision was pretty timely.

Makes the on-field action even more inexcusable.... Good for him.

On Friday, it was revealed that Vick had been stopped for speeding and driving with a revoked or suspended license in Hampton on Dec. 17. Vick's license had been taken away last year when he was cited for reckless driving and marijuana possession in New Kent County.

Steger suspended Vick from school at that time, and warned that any additional problems would effectively end his time as a member of the Hokies' football team.

"The university provided one last opportunity for Vick to become a citizen of the university and readmitted him in January 2005, with the proviso that any future problems would result in automatic dismissal from the team," Steger said Friday.

But...but...but...he said he was sorry.

Congrats to VT for doing the right thing.
