Anyone know a good way to look up who a phone # belongs to?
I just got a call at 10:50 pm. That is f*cking unacceptable. It was an 866 number, which I believe is toll free, but I can't redial it for some reason.
I'd like to figure out who it was so I can ruin their f*cking life.

I had some huge D-bag do that to me once. The only thing I could get from the internet is what area the callers number was from. If you have a phone book you can look up every single number on the back on it and see who it was. Atleast you can do that in my small county.

You can try and Google it.
Yes. Type the 10 digit number without spaces or dashes in the Google search box. If it's a listed number, it will give the name and address of the caller. May be a long shot with a toll number, though.

Did you try calling the number back?Yes. A recording tells me I don't have to dial a 1 first, but I'm not dialing a damn 1.

Shit like this is one of the reasons I only use my cellphone at home. I wouldn't even have a landline were it not for my alarm system and DTV. I don't give out that number, and have all the ringers on the landline phones turned off. I have an answering machine hooked up to it, and I check messages about once every three months. I figure anybody who calls on that line is some asshole wanting my money in one way or another. They aren't getting it.

It appears to be. That's odd.
Maybe it was just a harmless wrong number. Why would some massage parlor hooker from Tennessee have any reason to call you?
I think they're one of Rain Man's clients.

A most insightful and valuable focus group, Mr. Rain Man. Yes, the greatest focus group of all times. The Muhammad Ali of focus groups.
I particularly like the idea of calling across state lines to solicit sex. The Snoop Dog of focus groups.
I should like to participate in one of these focus groups very soon.

Okay, well the wrong number thing seems less likely now.
A week later, and for the second night in a row, I get a call after 10:30 PM. This time I actually got to the phone to answer, and got nothing but a pause and then hang-up.
Are there laws against calling after a certain time of night?
Is there any way to get these motherf*ckers to stop?

ROFL - outstanding. If there's a law, law enforcement doesn't seem to know about it. If they lived down the street you might have some luck. Out of state? Good luck.
