Flying out today... Mojo socks in tow, along with my Old School Elway jersey and orange hat. No pants for luck... Ok, I'm wearing pants.

Looks like were going to get some pretty fair weather:

Mainly sunny. High 41F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph.

Nice! :)

Here's to a great weekend, and my perfect record at home.

Go Broncos!

Why? To wipe away the tears of joy? Sorry bud, I hate the donks as much as the next guy, but they are going to own Shittsburg in their own house. To make things worse, there is a very good chance they are going to win it all. :shake:

I don't know, Mr. Bwana. This may be the year of the Bus. I just have a feeling that the Steelers may take care of business in Denver. They looked pretty sharp in their last game ... more focused and in control than the Donkeys did in theirs.

I REALLY hope you're right and the bus and company run over the Nags in their own house. If they can abuse Plummer early and often, they have a shot. If they give him to much time, they are screwed. Crowd noise will also come into play and this is the Steelers 3rd (or 4h?) road game? My heart is with the Steelers, but my wallet is on the donks.

I know exactly how you feel, Mr. Bwana. In fact, we were discussing this last night at dinner.

I actually thought that Plumber's nerves would snap in their game with NE. Objectively, and in retrospect, I view that game as turning on the NE turnovers and, of course, the penalties. Game's over now, so it doesn't matter.

But, I can still see Plumber succumbing to the pressure at some point. And, the Steelers can bring it. I like the impact Polamalu and the blitz packages will have in this game and I like lots of Jerome in this one.

About wednesday I started to form opinions. By yesterday, I couldn't think of anything that would change my mind. I could be wrong, the worst weeks I had all season was right after I had good weeks, I got too cocky, so I am trying to be a little careful this week. ;)

I'd like to say may the best team win, but I can't on the outside chance that your donks are better than the Steelers.

Hopefully Jake (I look like a pron star) the Snake throws a couple of interceptions with the wrong hand and the Bus runs all of your defense.

But other than that I hope you have a safe trip.

Bah. Bad Guy has had sour grapes ever since I started busting his balls about hyping up Derrick Alexander in 2001. I started the thread because I'm excited about the game. Rubbing your noses in it isn't even a sport anymore. It's like standing outside the short bus looking for kids to push over. I've made a serious effort this year to show restraint and only talked junk after Chiefs wins so that I wasn't pushing someone over the wrong end of the shower rod. I hate to admit that I showed pity, but apparently some folks won't recognize it on their own. :grr:

Yeah, I did talk a little junk down the stretch. So sue me. I don't know why you'd watch pro football if you are going to turn into a tender pussy in the face of rivals anyway. There's no smack I talk that a grown man shouldn't be able to handle in a good nature, and throw some back.

But the Internet is a big place, and I should think about the pussies who can't take it as well as the fellas who can.

Hey Fraz... You can smile a bit... My damn airplane chair wouldn't recline because it was right before the exit row, and a baby screamed the whole flight... :)

Taco it's the night before the AFC Championship game,a Saturday no less, and you're in Denver and you're on Chiefs Planet?

Yeah, just got back from the bar. We're up at 5:30am tomorrow to get in line for the tailgate lot. I'm not used to going to bed this early, so I hit up Meck's computer and figured I'd cruise around the Internet for an hour or so...

So if a Chiefs fan came over to your board and had this exact same post, what would the members of your board do?

What would your reaction be?

Why don't you ask Phil or Iowanian that question... Or Go Chiefs for that matter... This is so stupid. You don't have any clue. You're basically just hoping you're right.

Problem is, Chiefs fans don't get too far with their smack right about now.

Actually, that's more bullshit. The only time I've done anything like that is when someone drops some racist bullshit and gets protection from a mod. You do it, at the most inopportune and inappropriate times.....like when you COULD be showing a little class, before an AFC Championship game, instead of being humble and gregarious, you choose to be belligerent, obnoxious, and an asshole.

Perhaps. Win or lose, I feel good about our season. My stated goal since April is one playoff win to build from. We've gotten that. Next year I expect a Superbowl. If we win one this year, it'll be a treat, but it's not an expectation from my end.

You know, it never ceases to amaze me how civil the Planet is to people like Taco John. This is a Chiefs bulletin board. Yet we continue to allow ourselves to be subjected to his garbage.

I have nothing against the Broncos. What I do have a problem with is the dishonest and the cheating atmosphere that makes up the the Denver Bronco culture.

Cut blocks. They ruin careers, but they are nurtured and encouraged in Denver.

And do you really think Shanarat didn't know during the playoff game in KC that his offensive linemen had covered their jerseys in Vaseline.

It's a culture of win at all cost - including not giving a damn if they ruin careers by going at the knees as well as cheating a la the Vaseline incident.

All of that is taught and encouraged. Frankly, I've been a Chiefs fan since they were the Dallas Texans. But if they ever hired anyone with the ethics and morals of a Shanarat, I'd have to find a different team.

The Taco Johns of the world don't care to acknowledge that as long as they win. And they come over to a bulletin board and talk smack. When frankly, the rest of us should feel like taking a shower.

I guess we can be Christian and turn the other cheek. I'd just as soon show them one of mine and tell Taco John and his ilk to bite mine.

Or at least take a shot at my knees.

How as the flight home?
Or did you take The Bus?

TJ to bad it was not a better game.

Glad your Broncos lost.

Still I hope you had a good time, I know I sure would enjoy getting to go to a Chiefs AFC championship game if the chance ever presents itself again, though I doubt it will before I die, unless Carl quits.

Again...If KC got to the AFC Championship game, and played like that...I would rather have them not go at all.

Has to leave a sour taste in Denver fans mouth. It wasn't even a game from start to finish. It's tough, especially when you get bent over like that on your home field.

I totally disagree and I think any "real" fan would want their team to play the AFC Championship at home. Even if they lost I would still want that opportunity, that 1 game at home to go to the SB. To say otherwise is just plain stupid.

Go Broncos!

OVERRATED...     ....OVERRATED...

I would have agreed 10-15 years ago. Not anymore. :shake:

I don't get this. What is the downside of hosting the AFC Championship at home? So what if you lose. You get 1 chance, 1 game to go to the SB would you rather play the game on the road or at home?

I will take my chances at home, at Arrowhead with the best damn 12 man in the NFL.

I just got back from watching the games over at a friend's house (he's a life long Steeler fan). This sums up my thoughts of the game completely:

Not with the way the Broncos were playing. They reminded me of us during the 2003, 2001, 1997, 1995 seasons.....an illusion of luck, scheduling, and many breaks. They were a paper tiger. Yes, they beat the Patriots.....with the aid of 5 turnovers. Without that, they'd have gotten theirs last weekend.

2001?

BTW, the 97 team was NOT a paper tiger.
