View Full Version : I played the single-greatest game of Madden in the history of mankind last night

AFC Wildcard playoffs. I'm hosting Vince Young and the Browns.

I dominated them in Cleveland during the regular season by blitzing relentlessly. So my gameplan is the same.

It works for three quarters.

I'm up 24-0 and the Browns are backed up on their eight yard line. They have to pass, so I'm bringing the heat.

Young throws a jump ball to Kellen Winslow, who catches it, breaks a tackle, and goes 92 yards. 24-7, I'm still fine.

Vince Young's shoulder gets ****ed on the play and he's done for the day. Enter Brian Griese.

I punt, decide to blitz Griese....who hits Antonio Bryant on the sideline. Surtain misses the tackle, Bryant stays in bound and runs the rest of the way for a score. 24-14 with 10 minutes left.

I get the ball, and start driving. There's about six minutes left when Trung Canidate fumbles. Cleveland recovers and drives down for a touchdown with about 3 minutes left. 24-21. What was a blowout has become a nail-biter.

I get the ball and start driving. There's under a minute left and I'm killing clock.

Priest fumbles. The Browns pick it up and run it back for a touchdown.

28-24. Shit.

I've got 40 seconds and three timeouts. 70 yards away.

Sacked on first down. Timeout.

Then I hit rookie WR Derek Hagan for 47 yards on a corner pattern. He breaks a tackle and takes it inside the 30. Timeout.

I step up and hit Hagan down to the 2-yardline. Penalty on Cleveland so the clock stops.

Handoff to Priest. Touchdown. Unbelievable.

There's 15 seconds left. I kickoff and Cleveland has two plays.

On the second one, they get a pass interference call down to my 29.

Phil Dawson's attempt at a game-tying FG is SHORT. I win.

I always thought it would be nice for Madden to have an NCAA like feature that lists your greatest games. Otherwise I never remeber them.

I found an error in your post but I believe I fixed it.
Young throws a jump ball to Kellen Winslow, who catches it and breaks his leg.

Ah...but look at the Madden big play bs that happens late in the game if you're leading. No matter what D you call, the computer team will make a big play into triple coverage for long TDs (see your 92 yard TD and the Antonio Bryant TD). That's the thing that pisses me off about Madden games.

You're wrong. Both of the big plays came in single coverage.

"Comeback code" is a myth.
