View Full Version : One more year for Shields?

Per ESPN.com...

-Herman Edwards held talks with all of his new players in Kansas City during his first week on the job, and he said his early gut feeling is that OG Will Shields is leaning toward putting off retirement for another season.

also this....

-The hiring of OL coach Mike Solari as offensive coordinator is good news for the Chiefs' ground game, as he was the architect of a lot of the blocking schemes and helped in game-planning short-yardage situations. But QB coach Terry Shea is expected to be a focal point in keeping the passing game going strong, and the team no doubt will lean heavily on the experience of QB Trent Green.

Damn. I looked at the date and everything. Turns out today is the 25th...not the 23rd.

I apologize for being born.

You can fix things by late-late-late-late-LATE-term aborting yourself.

Not to draw more attention to my f-up, but I can't find the thread where this was previously discussed.

Can I get a link?

sometimes reposts aren't a bad thing, it's good for the people who aren't on here 24/7 and don't read every single page when they do log on. The Shields news is news to me

I'm glad I didn't post the article at topix.net today that said the Chiefs will be awarded a 3rd round compensatory pick. It was among this weeks news items with a March 2 date. That site also reports as Chiefs news articles about a firechief named Larry Johnson from Kansas ROFL

I think the possibility of what Herm can do with this defense, plus the very real chance that we're looking at a Larry Johnson record-breaking season will be enough to entice Shields to return.

It would be nice to see THE END put off for one more year. Hope both the Willies sign on for one more campaign.

I honestly think that bringing in Herm might be enough to get EVERYBODY to come back.

As I've said, If Hermie can get this defense fixed and not screw up the O, then I can get behind him.

Hiring Krumrie and Blackmon is a nice start to getting the D fixed.

If his presence is responsible for Will Shields return, then that is a hell of a nice start to not screwing up the O.

I have to admit Herm has done well so far.

I have said it ebfore but I am really excited to see what someone else can do with all of this talent we have...preparing in a different manner...coaching in a different manner...approaching games in a different way.

I cant wait to see what comes out of this Chiefs team.

Whatever Shields decides, I hope he decides quickly. Obviously I'd prefer he stay, but if he's not going to, the team needs to know. Last year we had this dark cloud hanging over spring training and even pre-season.

Shit or get off the pot.
