View Full Version : Close the Shutters -- it's a full-blown Nor'easter

Ahh...good times. Snow coming down sideways. Wind gusts of 40-50 mph. And, inevitably, I'm in the heaviest snowfall zone. 15-20 inches. Last night it was "8-12+" so we'll see how much higher those predictions can go.

Thank God for snow throwers.

And as much as they suck, I'll take Nor'easters over hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes and mudslides...

We had some snow here Friday, 'bout half an inch. That's like a blizzard here.

You people should go drink some anti-freeze just to be safe.

We missed the brunt of it down here, as usual. It stopped snowing early this morning, I'm chipping about 5" of icy snow off my truck with a (now) broken scraper. I could get on the road in half an hour if I needed to. So, I'll take it and be happy.

Here's the map.

Winter of 80'-81' in Gloucester working outside welding rail. We had our job site set up about 1/4 mile from Gloucester Harbor. One helluva Nor'easter came in.:shake: Lost power for 4 days at the house and had to work every day. BBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I can remember when I was at work if I put my cup of HOT coffee down it would start to ice up within a minute. Don't think I warmed up until July.

It's what you guys get for hoarding the Super Bowl here lately. The lesson here is to keep your team the **** out of the game.

I can swing by your office, stand on the roof with a box of detergent and sprinkle some gently past your window for effect if you want.

Fine. I'll stand on the roof of your truck and do it and you can play with the windshield wipers for fun.

And no ... you may not put the truck in gear and drive around at the same time!

Watching the Olympics with some friends last night. My buddy's fiance's parents live in Boston and when we saw the weather report, she remarked "guess I'm getting another baby brother."

You just want to mash the brake peddle and see how far you can make me fly, don't you?

If you hang on - that wouldn't be an issue. :harumph:

How can I hold onto the box and sprinkle the detergent that way?

Come to think of it, what the hell is on top of yourt truck for me to hang on to? The paint job?

Sure. If we stopped everything every time it snowed we'd never get anything done. I stayed in all day, but I've got 2 kids and nothing important to do except shovel out. If we had to go somewhere, we'd go. Just take a bit longer...

Nah. I'll just buy a bigger snow thrower and take the extra Lombardis... :D
