lot's of choices in the area. Ate at the Hereford House last night, and the Strip in the Dijon Mustard & brown sugar sauce was pretty killer. Got me wondering what others in the area claim to be their fav. Someone I talked to there last night mentioned this pretty high dollar place in Parkville, but I don't recall the name of it.

I think if I were to suggest a single place, it might just have to be the Plaza III. Those fockers just melt right in your mouth...

I'm pretty sure we've had steak threads before...

Some of the Best:
Pierpont's (Union Station)
Savoy Grill
Hereford House
Golden Ox
Majestic Steak House
Capital Grill
Jess & Jim's
Morton's
Chappel's
The Bristol
Ruth Criss

Jess & Jims. The 16 oz Filet is great, and the enormous Porterhouse can't be beat.

I've never had steak in kc but after the Chiefs Pats game, Boomer was telling us that some place by the plaza was a great place for steak. I'll prolly try it when i go to a royals game or something over the summer...

In OPKS, J.Gilberts is great.

Hereford House has never impressed me, but I've never been to the original.

The Louisiana Skillet Seared Filet is f**king amazing. Best steak I've ever had.

Piropos in Parkville is pretty goddamned good. I liked Plaza III, but have to agree Ruth's Chris was the best even though it isn't only in KC.

A little off topic, but I had a 16oz ribeye and ribs at Texas Roadhouse last night and it was quite good. The steak wasn't Jess and Jim's and the ribs weren't smoked (big mistake), but it was still a good meal.

i love the golden ox. maybe for sentimental reasons, we used to go there after the american royal for my brother and my birthdays every year.

I don't go out for steak any longer. I'm frequently disappointed. I grilled some filets last night. It was pretty damn good and since I actually live in KC, I'd recommend my place.

You're an idiot.

If your going to say at least do it right. :shake: It is You're and idiot. Just because it is in more than 1 place doesn't make any less delicious.

I don't go out to steak places for their steaks. I go to a place called Northstar here in Topeka. It has the best french fries i've ever had, plus you can drench them in a brown gravy, which is awesome.

Savoy, Majestic or Phillips Chop House.

Ruth Chris is overpriced chain food.

That's where it's at. Why pay 27.00 for steak when I can grill circles around some 16 year old idiot in the kitchen.

A better question would be where's the best butcher shop in KC to get great steaks.

I don't live in KC anymore, but Mc Gonigles (http://www.mcgonigles.com/) is where we would go to get top notch beef. There on 1307 W 79th St.

I would send them to my backyard, for some T Bones on the grill. Nothing beats grilling your own.

Ruth's Chris is the best, but you can't go wrong with Plaza III if you want something local. Jess and Jim's is good, but a little more down home atmosphere. I haven't been to Pierponts, but I hear that it is good. Mortons is supposed to be good too, but it isn't local.

Chad, you got the best butcher shop in the area at The St Joe Prime Meat Co. out on 169 hwy.I gurantee you get a ribeye or t-bone from there and grill it yourself and you'll never order steak out again, and if you don't believe me ask the Turks.

It's a chain, but it's become the go to place when family gets together in either St. Louis or KC. Everyone finds something they like and no one has had a disappointing meal yet.

Their Prime Rib is pretty good, but I really love their sweet potatoes as a side. MMMM.
