I'm not going hard for any man, no matter how good he can play football.

Well, we probably should have kept him in the first place!

IF, big ****ing IF, Shields isn't with KC next year, Welbourne is the RG... he's a guard not a tackle and a GOOD guard. I really don't think we'll lose much productivity with Welbourne as our RG, but I really want Shields back. And I'll bet money right now he is back as a Chief.

Now that I think about this, Lilja only has 2 years in the league right? That would make him an exclusive rights FA for Indy - not a RFA.

I we wouldn't have had him for for that short time this topic wouldn't even come up. Indy uses cheap garbage OL.

That's an interesting position, Miles. Now I'm perplexed.

True that. IMO I dont think G's are as important as OT's. Welbourn is a very good guard. We wont lose much productivity at the G spot. However I dont know if Sampson is good enough to fill Welbourns spot, because Welbourn was a good RT as well. This is where we need to draft that tackle from TX, or have hope that Eric Winston's knee injury keeps him from being drafted until the 2-20 spot.

Shawn Merriman made Lilja his biatch.

Amen. RT is where the real drop-off will occur, unless we draft OT in the 1st or 2nd or develop one of the, what, 12 tackles we've drafted in the last few years.

Am I the only one who watched that Colts/Steelers playoff game? Put it this way.....I don't wanna come down hard on anybody but lets just say the colts had some problems with their pass protection :)

Not going to lose much productivity? We replace one of the best Guards in NFL history who NEVER missed a start in all his seasons with someone who has yet to play a full season. BRILLIANT!

Make no mistake, Shields will be missed.
