View Full Version : Bill O'Reilly threatens caller with police action for merely mentioning "Olbermann"

I always thought Bill's behavior was just an act. No I wonder if he's actually crazy.

"Hey Bill, I appreciate you taking my call ("Sure"), I like to listen to you during the day... I think Keith Olbermann's show (cut off and threatened by Bill)."

Unless the caller used an obscenity after that and it was deleted, Bill O'Reilly is nuts.

It's not clear whether the normal time lag on a live radio show was edited out or not.

I'll give jAZ the benefit of the doubt and guess he has proof that the entire phone conversation was included in that recording and that his character assasination of O'Reilly really is a fair one.

I'd certainly give the benefit of the doubt to anyone who posts a link from callingallwingnuts.com

Uh, if you've ever listened to his radio show (and I do almost every day) you'd know he's fully capable of saying/doing this...

Should we just assume that all of your thread titles are lies* now, jAZ?

* Or, best case, that they recklessly disregard the obvious lack of supporting evidence.

There is no doubt that that .mp3 is authentic. I heard it myself. The question that jAZ didn't bother to ask himself before he overplayed his hand is: what was dumped before it went out over the airwaves?

Why? Does O'Reilly hate Sportscenter?

Dude, who cares what was dumped?

Tell me what you imagine could have possibly been said to justify the threat of police action? I mean, there is only so many options here right? Let's get that spin muscle a work out on this slow news day. I'd love to explore your rationalization a little further.

I would. Wingnuts are the bane of this earth. Someday, they will waken their minds and think for themselves, instead of letting media think for them. In the meantime, they're good fodder...

I would think only a wingnut would be offended by the URL.

Well, if you heard it, what was dumped? Surely, the caller must have said something crazy.

I heard what was on the .mp3 which doesn't include what was dumped. Preventing the audience from hearing something is the whole point behind "dumping" it.

Surely, the caller must have said something crazy.

That's my point.

I'm listening to O'Reilly in the KC area right now. He just dumped another caller who began his call by mentioning Justice Alito. O'Reilly dumped him and went immediately to another caller without comment. I have no idea what the caller said, but it didn't stimulate the same response from O'Reilly that yesterday's comment did. It's possible that O'Reilly is just irrationally incensed by Olberman callers or it's possible that yesterday's caller really did say something egregious as compared to whatever today's caller said. (There are other possibilities too, of course, but I thought it was worth drawing attention to today's treatment of the dumped caller in contrast to that described in the OP for yesterday's caller).

I'd say it's a safe bet O'Reilly gets plenty of nasty calls and e-mails

He did make reference to saying something obscene. Hell, even Mancow dumps people who try to drop the f-bomb on air.

I wonder why the guy felt the need to plead ignorance and lie about the call when he was talking to the FOX security guy.
