Why is that?

I would assume because all the "lefties" are posting about how bad shit is and what a terrible government we have, but in the "righties" view things are pretty good so there's not a lot to complain about. Well that's my theory that I didn't really put a lot of thought into anyway.

It is the lack of positive news on the Right wing front. Two year ago and beyond political thread from the right were far, far more common. 4 years ago they were a clear majority on the BB.

You don't have to limit yourself to ChiefsPlanet to see the trend. The folks who don't have the most powerful voice in Congress, have the loudest voice outside of it. When the liberals are in charge, it's the conservatives who are complaining the loudest, and vice versa. That hasn't changed since the day this country was founded, and it won't change anytime soon.

Because jAZ and memyselfi gave posting thread after thread after thread a bad name. ;)
I can't speak for anyone else, but I hesitate to start threads because then I feel a responsibility to keep them going or at least to monitor them and respond to posts that are on-topic. I spend way too much time here anyway so I don't need that extra time burden.
The fact that recxjake does post the occasional right-oriented thread is one of the reasons I like having him around.
I voted that "righties are more productive." It may not really be why they don't start threads, but I suspect it's true in general and there wasn't a "righties make better lovers" option. :)

Funny, I was thinking about this same subject earlier today. I was wondering how this place would have looked during the Clinton era.
I have a couple guesses
1. Most DC threads are more about bitching than praising. The righties don't have as much to bitch about right now.
2. Lefties are more vocal in general in my limited experience. It's sort of the idealogy of the outraged.

There were just as many negative threads from the right both here and at the old KCStar BB. Talking politics is what got a bunch of us banned at the old star BB and is main reason most of us long timers ended up here. Becky went on a banning spree and at just about the same time Kyle created this BB. Kyle invited Parker, Russ, Luz, Phil and a couple of others. They in turn invited many of us from the Star and the Planet was born. Funny to think that the ability to talk anything was the main reason this place got off to such a big start, and now a big part of that is banned to a sub-forum out of sight.

Incidentally, you're completely wrong about liberalism being "the ideology of outrage." It is the ideology of change, while conservativism is the ideology of station. Outrage has had its appropriate place in both at various times. Outrage was the bedfellow of the conservatives during the Clinton era, and of the liberals during the Bush era. Once the balance of power shifts again, as it inevitably will, it will move back in with the conservatives.

A) Play defense, bend but don't break, and pretend nothing really bad is going on in the world, and that those who see bad are nothing but whiners.
B) Wait for the other to screw up, and no matter how incremental it is compared to their side's screwup, attack as if they are, dare I say, TRYING TO KILL CHRISTMAS!!!!!! All the while, bitching and whining at a level unheard of on the other side.
I believe it has something to do with cake, and having it, and eating it...

It's a shame that you can't see what that particular issue is all about, but then when you live on the left coast you have to be PC because of the number of "them" living around you.
Just in case you don't understand, and I suspect that is the case, Christians tend to follow the Bible and the Bible indicates that being gay is a sin. God hates all sin, so in that reference he hates the sin that permeates the Gay lifestyle. Further, he doesn't hate the sinner but ony the sin.
And again, Fred Phelps does not represent Christianity.

It's because democrats don't hold power. If they did, 80% of the threads would be started by disgruntled "ideologues" on the right.
Believe me, if Clinton were in office the conservative nation would be on call 24 hours-a-day. They'd be pointing out everything from legitimate concerns to partisan personal attacks. Rush, Bill, and Sean would make sure that the pot got stirred.
No matter what the true believers on the right-wing want to convince us of, the Atwater/Rove personal destruction machine has been the vehicle of success for Cheneyburton (that and their wisdom of appealing to the base emotions of the masses (ala compassion, morality, and nationalism)).
They started in on Clinton while he was in power. And, even though they presently own power, they still practice their well financed efforts to destroy the personal character of their opposition.
The more power they get the more cocky they get.

The flaw in your comparison is intent.
Clinton was a dupe. I mean, com'n. Monica hugs him on national television like they're having an affair. Everybody who saw that said to themselves, "what was that all about?"
Then she saves the cum-covered dress?
Then that hag, Linda Tripp, "secretly" records a conversation with the "victim."
Then the Starr brigade entraps him with a question like, "other than Paula Jones, have you ever had another affair?"........D-U-H!
It really is too bad they couldn't have just nailed him for Whitewater and saved us all the trouble.
The difference is that Cheneyburton had this whole damn thing planned from the start. The Axis of Evil has been a self-fullfilling prophecy. Just ask the Energy Task Force, if you're allowed.
