I have high speed internet through my local cable provider. I am happy with the speed, but they keep raising the prices. Now I am thinking about switching from cable internet to DSL...However will a DSL package of 1.5 mbps download/896K upload speed allow me to still play gaming with my PS2 online?? Will that package be quick enough for me?

Thanks...

it's pretty quick...

i can't say much for what your pings will be or exactly what you need for online gaming, but i can play online games like counterstrike just fine on the 1.5 mbps connection...

consider yahoo DSL if it's an option for you, I just got on a yearly contract for 3.0 mbps down and i can't remember the upload speed for 17.99 a month

yep, i game online, and on xboxlive at the same time with dsl. You will have no problems, unless you have a crap router.

bpI have RR. No other option for broadband. I could get DSL through Sprint for like $25/mo., but I'd have to get a qualifing telephone plan with them. Not gonna happen. I use Vonage for my home phone.

Agreed....Same here. I had cable for a couple of years then dumped it last year for DSL for $14.99 a month. Cable is faster, but not in comparison to the higher prices you have to pay for it. DSL is fine for most users. Time Warner is going to have to start coming down on their prices.
