ESPN.com reports the NFL and the NFLPA are getting closer on how much revenue would be split with players. NFLPA executive director Gene Upshaw was originally seeking 60.3 percent, but the NFL was only offering 56.2 percent. The NFL has increased their offer to between 58.2 percent and 58.5 percent. An NFLPA source claims the league's best offer never got to the 58 percent range. Late Saturday, March 4, Upshaw told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that the union did come down "a little" from their 60 percent stance.

This sounds positive. I think they'll get it done soon.

I heard Jim Mora Sr. say on Fox radio that he'd heard the last stumbling block left in the negotiations is the cash over cap issue. Obviously no link, and who knows where he heard this, so several grains of salt are recommended.

Well in the original deal the players thought they were getting 64% then extra revenues they weren't included in came in and it became 56, so that may be why they're trying to get 60 now.

Even if that deal between players and owners gets agreed on which they're getting closer. There are still issues among the owners themselves.......
