Do you think it could really happen? Will the CP step up and make a move like this?

Eagles | Owens bonus deadline probably moved
Thu, 9 Mar 2006 05:18:19 -0800

Les Bowen, of the Philadelphia Daily News, reports presumably the Philadelphia Eagles' deadline for paying a roster bonus to WR Terrell Owens is now sometime early next week, but Owens' release could come sooner. The Kansas City Chiefs seem to be emerging as his most likely destination.

It was originally rumored that Denver was interested, so throwing the Chiefs name into the mix makes sense from Rosenhaus' perspective. I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm not sure how I feel. I think this team does need a superhero type player. Remember when we had Spiderman and Mighty Mouse? The team seemed to be having more fun back then.

I guess I see little downside to this move. Before you know it we will be in rebuilding mode. Our window at being a superbowl threat is two years tops (being very generous). TO is not a player you build around for the future he is a get us over the hump now type of player. If our stars, ie trent, tony, larry, and the oline are willing to give him a shot; then why not. They need to be consulted though.

If it does happen, Herm needs to ban ESPN from the locker room and training camp. The instigated a lot of the sh*t that went down last year.

Is that the SAME alley he gets his Crack from?

Cause if anyone really thinks T.O. is coming to KC to play football may want to find said alley and get to toking!

T.O.'s not in an enviable position. He may actually have learned a small lesson from the entire affair. If he hasn't, one would hope that Rosenhaus is smart enough to recognize what teams will want from Owens and successfully convey that to him. Any agent who has advised his client as poorly as Rosenhaus has done to this point deserves to be replaced. The fact that he hasn't been canned is evidence to me that Owens is willing to trust him. Rosenhaus should have T.O. prepared to give any team that takes a chance on him whatever they need from him.

That said, I believe that Owens would be the only offensive signing we would need in order to maintain our offensive prowess. He, Gonzalez, and LJ would open things up for each other like nobody's business. That would be something to see. That signing alone would allow us to invest all other assets into defense, IMO.

I'm not a T.O. fan but it could be a helluva' gamble that could likely pay huge dividends.

I don't know about that. Trent has the respect of the entire team. Owens wouldn't be able to split the locker room the way he did with McNabb. If he tried that shit here guys like TRich and Big Will would have to have a word with Mr. Owens.

I agree. Eddie would be more dangerous as well.
