seems quite unspectacular, but solid and fast from what I here. Maybe an improvement from Warfield, maybe not.

He's showed he can be good, but I dont think he's as bad as you make him out to be. Anyone is better than McCleon IMO, and if he's cheaper than Warfield, Im all for it. We can still pick up Miami's CB Kelly Jennings in the 2nd round.

1st - DE Tambia Hali
2nd - CB Kelly Jennings
3rd - DT Rodrique Wright

That gives us Surtain, Allen, Sapp, Jennings, Hodge, Battle at CB position.

I don't know a lot about him either.

Fits the cover Two mold better than Warfield. Supposed to be a good run defender too.

I actually like Will Allen as a person, he's a real good guy. My brother became friends with him from going to different Giant functions and even hung out with us at the draft last year.

That said, he's not very good. Just because "anyone is better than McCleon and cheaper than Warfield" doesn't mean we should settle for that.

That's how this defense got so bad in the first place.

Allen is bad. I've seen enough of his games to know.

Unless Herm thinks he can work magic with him, I'd prefer it if we just re-signed Duane Washington.

Like I said, it's what i've heard. I don't know to much about him.

I'll trust Bad Guy's judgement. He seems to know quite a bit about the Giants and the east coast teams in general along with others.

Besides. LJ runs lots a players over, especially DB's!

Anyone Else notice CB Kevin Garret is on our roster? We signed him as a street FA this offseason when we signed all the scrubs to futures contracts.

I remember he was not a top CB prospect but next in line coming out of SMU 3 years back. Looks like his only real stats with the Rams were 4 pass breakups.

Anyone follow his career in St. Louie?

Wow a crappy CB who Carl can probably get on the cheap.
Also it shouldn't interfere too much with Carl's precious vacation time.

How exciting

I was going to point out how he get's abused becuase he's not physical enough for the position but I think you've already pretty much got the bases covered.

He should be a Chief by Wednesday...

Guys, I have a set of questions I'd like to ask. Okay:

1. Is Will Allen better than Warfield?

2. Is Will Allen a drunk? Did he ever get charged for anything off the field?
Is he a good guy off the field?

3. Is he gonna cost more or less than Warfield?

He was drafted by the Rams the same year they drafted DeJuan Groce and Shane Walton, and none of them really turned out to be worth a damn. The Rams have had all kinds of injuries at CB, and Garrett never stepped up.

2. No. No. Probably.
3. Of course he is. He sucks.

He was a pretty bad #1 corner for the Giants, but he might be passable as a #2, assuming we don't overpay for him. I don't think he is worse than warfield though.

Warfield is a much better CB than Allen. Not even close.

Oh well.

What happened to having faith in Herm?

I don't think the NYG play a lot of zone 2. Herm might think he'd be a decent corner for a zone D.

:hmmm: really?

I couldn't see as to how it would make sense the Chiefs go after the guy?

Maybe their finding a cheaper and better alternative to replace Warfield? Who knows?

*Well, if he is a good guy, I do have a slight glim of hope. Perhaps Herm could build on that, and make him a better football player?

Ah ha. Thats my most likely alternative. Place all my hope, faith, and validation on Herm. Maybe he can work some magic with Allen?

There is a reason I wasn't in a rush to see Warfield let go, there is not a ton of talent out there at the position.

Now Mcleon on the other hand, wasn't gone fast enough.

If Chuck Norris played defense the team wouldnt need an offense to win the game. In fact, there wouldnt be any need to play the other 10 players on defense either.
