The way I figure it, if he can't help us get over the hump and into the playoffs it really won't matter if he destroys our team from the inside out. If we had a history of 1) getting to the playoffs, and 2) winning once there, I'd be a little worried. The way things stand now, if we don't get it done and done soon, the team needs to get blown up. It is a win-win situation either way as far as I'm concerned.

No kidding. How bad can TO be to our well-respected Great team? ummm...

Wait. He will only rip the team apart if Herm decides not to recognized him after he leads the NFL receivers in catches and TDs. Or if Trent gets mad at TO for comparing Green to len Dawson.

Maybe he'll just get us to a Superbowl and perhaps even help us win one. Then, he is entitled to do another commercial at the Plaza with Teri Hatcher wrapped in silk sheets???? :p

well, on defense, yes.

but on offense, all we need is a big-play WR.

we've tried fixing the defense, but it never seems to work

Then we hired the wrong head coach if that's the direction we're going to go.

Our Offence didn't become dominant until we rebuilt the O-line. Roaf was the missing piece. We need to put as much effort on the D-line now and I bet the _efense would improve by leaps and bounds. I'm talking about proven talent cause we have failed at doing it through the draft except for one player.

I think we can be contenders (at least have a fighting chance) next year if we significantly upgrade one thing. Our pass rush from the front 4. Adding TO only makes us idiots who believe that offense is enough to win (again). The biggest hole on our team is D-line. After that, our other need is to get younger at several positions.

We can be tough next year with our new coaching philosophy, immediate return from 1 or 2 high round defensive draft picks, and ideally, a FA pass rushing DE.

JMO.

What's funny to me is Denver is the team that was so close and probably doesn't need the risk whereas KC should be taking big chances to actually improve and make the playoffs, yet the signing will probably go the other way.

There's no doubting his ability... I just don't care to fight through a season hearing/reading about TO 24/7.

Denver's defense played a part in them being "so close" last year as well, they fell apart against the Steelers.

"Owens was set to earn base salaries of $770,000 plus $7.5 million in bonuses in 2006, $5.5 million in 2007, $6.5 million in 2008, $7.5 million in 2009 and $8.5 million in 2010."

Neither the Broncos nore the Chiefs will end up with Owens. New reports coming out say that Rosenhouse and Owens are no longer entertaining incentive laden deals, and are instead pursuing what Rosenhouse is calling the "Platinum" deal... They want large guaranteed money with what they're calling "a cap friendly base."

In other words... They want their money now so when Owens screws another team, it is hard for them to get it back.
