Rams sign free-agent cornerback Fakhir Brown to five-year deal
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The remaking of the St. Louis Rams defense continues today with the signing of free-agent cornerback Fakhir Brown to a five-year contract.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The 28-year-old had 31 tackles and six passes defended for the Saints last season.
In a little over a week, the Rams have made four moves to improve a defense that ranked 30th in 2005.
On March 6, St. Louis signed veteran defensive tackle La'Roy Glover. Like Brown, Glover had earlier played in New Orleans under Jim Haslett, the former Saints head coach who is the Rams' defensive coordinator.
On Saturday, the Rams signed free-agent safety Corey Chavous. And on Sunday, the Rams signed linebacker Will Witherspoon, who was Carolina's leading tackler the past two seasons.
