Starbucks to give out free cups of coffee

SEATTLE - Starbucks says it will give away free cups of coffee on Wednesday between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. at 7,500 of its stores nationwide.
The Seattle company expects it will give away 500,000 cups of coffee in its two-hour 'national coffee break.'

Starbucks also has started its annual sale of brewing equipment and says it will give customers tips on how to make great-tasting coffee at home.

I live for coffee.

I refuse to pay SB prices for it. I can get better blends for cheaper, and brew it myself.

Yep. I'ma Starbucks fan, as they helped me discover there's better coffee than Maxwell House and Folger's. I tend to go for the The Roasterie's SUmatran Medium Roast.

Just think. If Charles Manson had discovered Starbuck's at a young age, Abigail Folger might still be with us today.

SB overpriced.

They do get the first choice of beans from growers by paying for the privilege. I have heard.

I wonder if they've built a Starbucks in Rolla yet. Last year I drank Hardee's coffee in the morning.

Their coffee is good, no question. The price and the atmosphere is a bit of a turn-off for me.

I recently started grinding my own gourmet coffee. Coming on the heels of 10 years of Folgers, it's like heaven.

Heh, that's just a wonderful promotion. How many people are able to get to Starbucks on a Wednesday between 10am-noon? :shake: I guess I'll just have to stick with my Folgers. :)

btw, Maxwell House sucks ass.

Grind your own.

It's a legit promotion - my wife is on the Starbucks mailer.

But it's not like you get run of the store when you arrive. They're giving away coffee, not specialty beverages.

There's one in Springfield. Not that that helps you out any.

Have you tried any Jamaican Blue Mountain?Damn, it's funny that you mentioned that. My wife and I took our honeymoon in Jamaica and drank a lot of Blue Mountain while we were there. We ended up bringing a bunch home. That stuff is what made me realize what good coffee is.

Even free it's probably too expensive

4 words:

Nectar of the Gods. :)

I only permit myself to buy it twice a year. Otherwise, it'd be worse than a heroin addiction.

Bob Dole had to go check out the conference room at a hotel nearby, so went and grabbed a cup at the drive-thru.

Still tastes nasty IBDHO.
