It would be cool if it unloaded its ordinance on your house.

Those are some amazing planes. I heard they may be in danger of budget cuts. Hate to hear it, they are ugly, but man they lay down the firepower.

And apparently there are talks of mounting solid state lasers to them.

We're now in the land of Star Trek/Star Wars weaponry... :)

No chit, the upper ups have tried to kill that thing off a dozen times but just like it’s toughness on the battlefield, it keeps come’n back.

Those are some amazing planes.

Once when I was “in the field” while stationed in Germany, we came under attack (simulated of course) by a pair of’em and they put on a display of low-level aerobatics like I’ve never seen before or since. They truly are amazing.

USMC will take it ;)
Let the USAF concentrate on high-tech toys that fly high and clear the sky; leave the CAS to the ones where it matters most.

One of my favorite planes.

I was out for a long bike ride in extreme southern KC one fine day back in the 1980s. Two of those f*ckers flew over my head so close that I fell off my bike. One of the pilots apparently saw this, and circled around. I waved to him and waggled his wings and flew off. Pretty cool for a 15 year old.

This, I like:

"The A-10 is scheduled to stay in service with the USAF until 2028, when it may be replaced by the Joint Strike Fighter. Beginning in 2005 the entire A-10 fleet is being upgraded to the "C" model that will include improved FCS, ECM, and the ability to carry smart bombs. However, the A-10 could stay in service indefinitely due to both its low cost and its unique capabilities which the Joint Strike Fighter simply cannot incorporate such as its cannon, ruggedness, and slow flying capabilities."

I just watched some of those videos showing the Warthogs low-level acrobatics...

Un-f*cking-believable....

I think the clip where the SOB was flying around trees was the one that really got to me....
