From the amount of college sports rivals we have on this BB,we have several different schools making up Chiefs Nation.

This is a poll .......... some of you strange fans like to split up your prefrence in the different sports. As confusing it may be, we understand why you are confused. :p This poll will be for your favorite college basketball team.

Explain your reason you back this team and for how long .

Poll coming............

KU. Not even close. Rex Walters and Adonis Jordan stole my heart. The Hawks have been breaking it ever since. But they have also given me a ton of thrills and memories along the way.

Man, why do people insist on thinking I'm a KU fan?

To set the record straight: I never went to college. I could care less about any of them. I certainly have never understood having pride in a business that you paid to make you work.

MU.

My grandfather worked for them for 25+ in their Ag Dept. They even provided him on-campus housingn for a lot of that time. You could hear the roar of the football fans (Back when the Tigers were actually good) from their house. I spent a lot of my childhood on the campus. I grew up rooting for the Tigers. Also attended there for 2 years before I transfered to Bible College. So, no matter how bad they get, I'll always be a fan. I'm more intense about my love of the Chiefs, but the roots go back way further, and deeper, for the Tigers.

I'll never hate Roy. What he did at Kansas was fantastic. He was HOF coach before winning a National Championship. The fastest to 400 wins. Too bad he got kind of a late start at coaching though because he wont be anywhere near the record when its time for him to retire. He chose to go home and to be paid the highest salary in college bball with the best starting 5 in the country. Cant blame him for going back home, but it does leave KU fans a bitter taste because after you have a coach like Roy Williams, the only way there is to go as a coach is down. Theres only one coach I would accept to having over Roy and thats Coach K.

Grew up in Leavenworth, KS. I remember the '86 Final Four. I was in the 3rd grade and my teacher was a KU grad. She got us all fired up only for us to lose (I think it was Duke). I was hooked. I would go down to the playground and pretend to be Danny Manning (it was really fun because we share a name). Then in 88, that magic ride. After that championship we moved from the area, and I had to represent. Moving away made me a stronger supporter of KU/Royals/Chiefs. Ended up in PA and decided to go to Mt. Oread for undergrad. Due to some circumstances, I had to come back to PA and finish undergrad here. I've always been a Jayhawk.

It was fun having my uncle to argue with too. He went to K-State and did some stat work for the hoops team in the 80's and early 90's. He used to try to recruit me to go there with my cousins, but I would not give in.

When I was in grade school, we learned Kansas history in January every year. We learned to be proud of where you're from. I'm from Kansas. I'm a Jayhawk! I am a teacher now and I teach my kids the exact same thing. I would expect all of them to be Penn State fans, but since they suck, they won't stick with them. It's sad really. Most of them are Duke or Carolina fans which is just intolerable. I think it's different nowadays with the Internet and all. Kids root for who's "the best." Or it might be the eastern US is different where there are more options within a very close area.
