I dont think you can play online on 2005 any longer, you have to get the new one to be able too.

I've got '06 on the PC. '05 on the PS2. I haven't played '05 in a long, long time, though.

Hmm, I don't think I ever played this version online. Over the years, I got sick of all the cheesers. Got tired of all the nerds whose goal in life was to become the best Madden player of all time.
