no, I got the core system for $300, a game for $60, the HD cables for $70, 2-yr warranty for $40, and with tax that was about $500, then I got home and hooked it up and realized that I didn't have a hard drive or memory unit so I went back and picked up the hard drive for $100. All that best buy had was the core system. I probably could have gotten a better deal elsewhere, but I wanted to use my best buy reward zone thing.....oh well

HD cables for $70

Ouch... I didn't realize they were that much... I'm waiting for the overall price to drop, but I don't think it will for quite a while...

How's the new Ghost Recon? I got wood from the previews........

I've been trying to stave it off. I still enjoy my regular xbox just fine, and that price is friggin' steep. Ghost Recon looks so sweet though.

2-yr warranty for $40,

Yeah they screw you with that warranty...It costs them like 2% of that fee to replace you're system if somthing goes wrong like....I don't know, it catches on FIRE?
(They were having a problem with that when they first came out) :fire:

But the games are superior to anything else I've seen. Enjoy!

If you know a BB employee, you can figure out how little the service plan is used by the amount the employees have to pay with their discount. The discount was 5% over cost when I worked there, and there were some service plans that only cost me a couple bucks.

The old xbox (and ps2) had some issues with the DVD drive wearing out quickly, causing games to freeze a lot, so maybe it would be worth it. But you can find an extended warranty for a lot cheaper than you get at a retailer online, for anything from tvs to cars.

I love my 360. I have PGR3, Call of Duty 2, Kameo & Perfect Dark Zero... all 4 are EXCELLENT games. I am going to pick Ghost Recon and am already on a preorder for Halo 3 when it finally comes out.

Ok guys, I bought mine yesterday with the intentions of being able to play my old X-Box games. I get the thing all hooked up, and pop in one of the games they say is on the playable list, and it tells me I can't play it because it is for the original X-Box. Pretty close to returning it, any advice before I do? Before you ask, yes I did by the premium package.

You have to download the patches from the internet.

You have to download the patches from the internet.

The only XBOX game that is "out of the box" compatible with the 360 is Halo 2 (which I play on my 360).

You have to have an online connection for your 360 in order to download patches to make the other games work. Thats why you HAVE to have the hard drive for original XBOX games to work on the 360.

Anyone know if you can download these patches on a regular PC and then copy them over (via Flashdrive) or do you HAVE to have the XBOX Live download for it to work?

I like Nintendo too....they get a bad rap because they have the "Kiddie" niche market all locked up.

Their games and their systems are still extremely well made.

But it's hard to compete when X-box is basically locking up adult gamers and sony is targeting everyone. That is why nintendo is essentially in 3rd place now.

True. I think they will be around awhile though as long as they continue the kiddie niche like i mentioned earlier. Its not like i want my son and daughter playing GTA when they are like 6-12 years old. Im sure that goes for most people.

That's true but now alot of people my age and older are games, I'm 25 by the way. So why would I buy a system for my son(if I had a kid) that didn't have games I wanted to play? Sony's pretty good about having games for everyone and Microsoft is getting better about it.

If you market to mostly kids people who are older that like to play games to won't be buying your system. I'd rather all systems had games for adults and kids, if you don't want your kid playing GTA that's fine just make sure you as a parent know he's not playing it. Don't leave it up to the game maker to not sell it.

Im pretty sure what saves Nintento is the legacy titles like the Mario series. Who knows, maybe they will drop out of the console market all together and just concentrate on games like Sega did??

LOVE MY XBOX 360, I got it the day it came out and it was well worth waiting 7 hrs in line at my Local Sams Club to get the Premium Package...

Games that I have:

Call Of Duty 2 (Play alot)
Full Auto (rarely play)
EA Sports NBA 2006 (rarely play)
NHL 2k6 (play alot)
NCAA 2k6 (play alot)
FIFA 2006 (play alot)
Tiger Woods 2006 (rarely play)
Halo 2 (old xbox) (never played yet)
Madden 2006 (play alot)

Games that I should have but dont have any extra $$$ to spend on:

Oblivion
GRAW (Ghost Recon)

My wife kinda has me on hold with buying anymore games... We are remodeling the house (new countertops, sinks, deck, backyard, etc...) so thats priority... I am so into gaming its not even funny...

I am looking to sell my NBA 2006 game, I played it like 6 times and just dont enjoy it as much as my college game... I cant return it (already open) and I dont want to piss it away... If anyone wants it for $40 (instead of the original $60), Ill send it their way... pm me and we could work a paypal payment or whatever...

Nintendo is to busy bitching about how Microsoft put out a new console to fast and was suppose to wait 3 more years. And then they develop corny things like that weird ass controller the revolution is suppose to have.

In all honesty the only thing that does save them is they were around first so they have things like Mario to fall back on. Although I don't like any of the new Mario games they've made. Argh.........the 2k NBA game is 10000 times better than the EA one you got the wrong game. If you had that one you could import your guys from NCAA to the NBA like I do.

I have
NBA 2k6
NCAA2k6
Ghost Recon
Call of Duty
Perfect Dark 2

I also need to pick up Oblivion.

By the way NCAA question is it just me or is it nearly impossible to beat UCONN on there? They scored 80 points on me in a half and were shooting 35-46.......I got so pissed I just quit and turned it off. I consider that extremely unfair.

Old school nintendo rocks... the only Mario game I liked was the original...
duck hunt, duck tales, mickey and minnies adventures, etc...

I am 24, and I grew up using Atari @ 6, Nintendo @ 8, switching to Sony @ 16, switching to Microsoft @ 19...

I know what you mean on the EA game, I dont know if I could pick up the NBA 2k6, Im still pissed off about the EA game, it kinda made me hate the NBA...

My Bro in law has Perfect Dark 2, I hate it, he doesnt like it either... what do you think...?

I havent played UCONN yet, I am on Legacy, and havent scheduled them yet, I am having issues beating the away teams on All-Conference, I played on Starter for the first 4-5 games and was winning by 20 points... On All Conference I lose about 75% of the games vs higher overall... I like the challenge...

Perfect Dark is alright, I don't hate.

I understand wanting a challenge but I don't think losing 85-40 at halftime is my idea of a challenge. They run down the floor pass it twice and shoot it. They take no time off the clock, run and never miss any shots. It's extremely ridiculous and frustrating.

I have:

Gun
CODII
Tiger Woods 06
Fight Night (rocks)
AND just started on Blazing Angels.

So far Woods is ok but the online play sucks as your routed through an EA server that consistantly drops you. I'm pretty much hooked on BA right now as the online play is just as good as playing a campaign.

The only thing I would suggest to pick up in addition to your xbox is an HD tv or LCD monitor for your system...The difference is unreal....

People are getting desperate...

I traded in my old xbox plus games and spent a mere $64.00 and change on the premium package plus a game. BUT since then:

LCD Monitor $189.00
Face plate $20.00
Wireless Ant. $100.00 (freakn rip off)

Total for me so far $373.00

~I know I should count the old stuff I traded but that wouldn't be any fun~

Got the Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter game!

You know that reminds me....There's a dipshit manager at gamestop that I got off on the wrong foot with since my Xbox arrived. I was browsing the store the day before yesterday and saw GR used so I picked it up and told him to hold it for me while I go home and get a game I got a christmas to trade in...He says no problem so and I run home and back only to find the fugger sold it while I was gone. I swear I'm gonna beat the prick if I see him outside the store.

Even after Sony basically made a portable PS2, Nintendo's little "barely better than N64" Dual Screen is still destroying the PSP in sales worldwide.
