Do any of you know of a free product out there that is similar in functionality to Photoshop or their creative suites offering? My father in law has been pestering me about this and I can't find anything?

Thanks in advance...

Those of us who write software for a living thank you.

The Gimp is free and I use it. They have a Winblows version, too.

What's so hard about stealing software? Actually, part of what I do for a living is making sure that businesses don't partake in piracy in regards to software licensing...

dunno, but I own A-F so no more MAC addresses unless you pay me, which means no more internet too. I'm throwing hex out to pasture. :D

I own them in the order they are in.

Your argument is like saying "who owns a piece of art when it's just paint" or "who owns a car when it's just metal and fabric". It's not the parts, it's the sum of them and the intellectual property used to assemble them into something useful.

Create something with the power of your own mind. Then go through the process of mass producing it and marketing it. Do it in such a way that you can make a profit off of the enterprise, perhaps even support yourself in style and provide employment for other people. Then decide "who owns 0's and 1's". Or just retain the morals of a thief. Your choice.

I paid $19 to upgrade Limewire if that helps the moral dilema. :) Photoshop works really well!

This company puts their old software online for FREE. It's the full version of the software. They hope you will love it so much you upgrade to their new ones.

Not only can you get something like Photoshop but the following:

PagePlus SE - Desktop Publishing

PhotoPlus 6.0 - Photo and Image Editing

WebPlus 6.0 - Web Site Design & Publishing

DrawPlus 4.0 - Graphic Design and Vector Drawing

3DPlus 2.0 - 3D Animation and Modeling

Enjoy!!!!

It's not my assumption...it was based on what you were posting and the responses.

My posts on this thread:

Post #11: Who owns 0's and 1's (binary code)??
Post #16: I wonder if Limewire uses 0's and 1's?

This hardly constitutes any complicity by me to "Jack software".

To me, it is only two QUESTIONS asked to get another's ideas
about software piracy.

Regarding others' reponses to the questions I asked, take it up with them. That is all.

htismage: No problem. Joke taken.
