:spock:

The one thing that video shows is how GW won the 2004 election. Holy crap....and people talk about Bush's lack of speaking skills? That guy would cure the woes of a lot of insomniacs.... :shake:

I must say I agree. I could barely get throught the clip.

I still think that the Dems should've filpped the ticket last time.

Sure Edwards had the "young" label (even though he was 50), but at least he could hold an audience's attention for 2 minutes. Plus he could've capture that 4-5% of women who vote based on who they'd like to date more. They could've played the inexperienced foreign policy thing off like Bush did in 2000 by saying "well Cheney's my guy on that". He could've said "Kerry's my guy on that (or better yet Wes Clark).

sigh.

BTW, audio was fine for me. Maybe CE needs to reinstall Windows Media Player?

My system works on every other video played. I even get live feeds from radio stations. Maybe banyon needs to stick to his main profession.

Wasn't he the guy who was going to win the war in Iraq better? I guess we were right not to trust him.

There is no winning the war in Iraq. Theres just leaving. And I agree sooner is better as long as we are going to leave any way.

At least he has a vocabulary. Bushs command of the english language is definately a work in progress.

Dave

Uh yea, the “war” is already won. The only hurdle left to leave'n is help’n them setup their own gubment.
And apparently that’s become a race between the Iraqis that want their own democracy and those here in a hurry to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. ;)

He should. He's been in politics and the public eye for 20 yrs longer than Bush....he should be more polished.

Which, if you think about it, makes his abysmal showing in 2004 all the more amazing.

What bitching? He says if Iraq doesn't want to take charge of its destiny its time to leave them to it. I agree if they don't want to take advantage of the oppurtunity we are offering them then its time to go.

Dave

I agree. And I suspect most, including the President do too. That's somehow enlightening?

The question is, when and how....do we turn it back over to them? Do we rebuild, as in Germany or Japan; or do we leave prematurely?

Regardless, we will leave. And it will likely be sooner, rather than later. So you guys wanting a pull-out will have your way...before too long, I suspect.

Research that one for yourself--I already have; yet it remains a popular myth.

Their IQs are quite likely in the same ballpark....according to extrapolations based on ACT scores, standardized test scores, and estimated IQs....and even their college grades were comparable.

Don't trust moveon.org, or DU for that information though. Heh. :)

Is that the new talking point? :)

So is there a direct correlation between the increasing number of bodies (American and Iraqi) and how thoroughly our "mission is accomplished"?

Speaking of new talking points, I guess with the decreasing rate of American deaths, we are now suddenly concerned with "American and Iraqi" deaths combined. ;)

Seriously, it was my understanding that the Murtha devotees were interested in pulling out (redeploying to an undisclosed location nearby for use in the event of some unspecified emergency) so that the Americans would no longer be targets and even if it meant increased violence (death) among Iraqis. If that's the case, why would they be concerned with the combined number of American and Iraqi deaths as long as the number of American deaths is on the decline?

*This isn't aimed directly at you, banyon, it's something I've been wondering about for a few weeks now. Since American deaths are on the decline, what's that do to the Murtha rationale for bugging out?*
