I wouldn't do that, although some time in Omaha may be warranted (we can do that this year!)

Luke Hudson looked fairly decent tonight. Honestly, never heard of him before he took the mound.

It's all a smokescreen. We're not cursed by anything more than an incompetent owner, a lowsy GM and one highly-overpaid DH.

I've noticed that. All the Royals threads are the same. What you could do is number the existing ones numbers 1-8. Then when the Royals play someone can just post #6 and everyone can start bitching. It would save a lot of bandwidth.

You guys still get pissed after losses? This walking thing is ridiculous though, we have a pretty shitty lineup when Sweeney isn't hitting and Reggie is the only guy that can do anything right now.

Up that bet to $1000 per game. At the end of the year, buy the Royals from that asshat Glass.

These guys are killing me. On the bright side, we only had the second-highest walk total in the majors today. Florida walked 10 and somehow managed to allow just two runs.

I think the team is really close. :)

And to think I acctually thought that they would be decent this year

What in the world made you think that??? What did they do to improve themselves in the off-season?? It all starts with pitching, and they all blow. I cant believe that the fans in KC havent lynched Baird and run him out of town yet??

Ok David Glass isn't going to fire himself and personally at this point I am not saying it is him for once. It is Baird. He does not know how to put a team together. He is egotistical and arrogant and sometimes just a flat out dumbass.

I am still wondering why we ever let Dye get away when all I hear from Baird is this bull shit about a corner outfielder. We could of traded Affeldt last year but Baird HAD to have a corner outfielder.

Secondly we have a catcher that cannot call a game for jack shit. Although his bat is seemingly better this year.

Massive suckage, apparently, brings with it street cred. For reasons unbeknownst to me, suddenly just this week I've seen four different guys in four different places wearing crisp new KC Royals caps. 1500 miles from Kansas City.

That is a bunch of crap. Sorry, but it is. Baird is probably the absolute least egotistical GM in professional sports. He offered up his own head to step down last year to calm the fan backlash as long as Glass promised him to stick with trying to develop the young players we have. How many other GM's would do that? Zero. None. Carl freaking Peterson is working on year 18 of failure across the parking lot in a league where there's an actual level playing field. You sure the heck don't see him apologizing for failure. Saying Baird is egotistical when Carl is sitting across the parking lot is a joke.

The guy works his ass to the bone, doesn't even get to see his wife, doesn't actually have a life, listen to an interview with the guy, he couldn't tell jack squat about movies or current events or anything because he's too busy to follow any of them. He's always working and scouting and trying to gain an edge because he works for a team that's at a disadvantage compared to everybody else. This whole thing may blow up and never work out, but it's not because Baird didn't try, was on vacation the first week of FA, or was arrogant.

This may be true. and by all accounts hes a decent guy, but hes in waay over his head. Its time for him to leave on his own free will. What hes doing is not working. I dont care how hard he works, its not working.

What do you think will work then? I think he is doing the best he can and I don't see another GM doing much better with the limited resources we got. We still can't rush up young talent and **** them up too. We gotta let these guys keep playin and let them know their roles so they can build for next years team, which is the team that should have the Huber, Butlers and Gordons of the system up.

They need to hire a GM with a proven track record for starters. Im just not sure if Glass is willing to shell out the $$$ for one?? They need to re-work how they develop players once they get to the BIGS. How many potential prospects have we had flame out on us in the past 10 years?? Too many to count.

It's the right way to do it though. Even if we go 52-110 this year, he's doing it the right way. I mean that's how it goes. Steinbrenner spends 18 gazillion dollars and it hasn't worked out for him lately either. It's possible to take an approach and fail. And it will cost Allard his job. The ice is probably becoming more thin by the day for him. If somebody replaces him, they'll have to do the same thing. And the cycle will continue....

Why?
I saw the highlights it's mid April....alot of pitchers are not there yet.
This is football score month.

Rangers will likely win more than 50 games too.
