The New Tool tune called "Vicarious" is viciously good. I beleive you can download it, if your local radio station isn't playing it.

Killer. They will be here in Vegas on May 5th at the Joint. Small venue, high tickets prices and quick sellout. but I'll be there. :p

Looks like the band will be in KC on 5/11--just a heads up.

I heard it the other day, and was unimpressed. I'll wait for the whole thing to come out before I start bashing it though.

Wow--that's cheap. We get totally buttraped here in Vegas. I believe the tix prices here are $150 a pop. And that's pretty standard here...

I think it has a "Undertow" feel. What I have heard so far anyways. I'm think I'm going to be very happy with this album. I think "Vicarious" is a helluva lot better than "Schism". JMO

It's funny you say that considering that the beginning of "Vicarious" is just a reworking of "Schism's" bridge.

Well anyone with decent ears can recognize the bridge I'm referring to. Anyways, I'm not bashing the song, I think it's decent.

It's not hard to recognize the bridge that you're talking about, I just think "Vicarious" rocks a little harder than Schism and I enjoy that more.

I guess I'm saying that the song has more of an angrier feel, like the stuff they did on "Undertow".

They even said that they are pissed off again and that makes for good rock n roll, IMO.

oh well looks like another band goes creed. I can't tell the songs apart. I guess I will go back to listening to the harder stuff. Like manilow or John Denver

Tool has never been about "being hard."

Tool is thought music. Not everybody is going to get it or appreciate it, but those who do love it.

I might be wrong, but I thought Tool has stated Rush was a big influence on them??

Time signature changes, heavy chords, unique vocals, excellent musicianship- they at least resemble them. I think Tool influenced Rush a bit on a few Vapor Trails songs. Alex Lifeson has in stated in interviews he is a big fan of the band. He is very knowledgable about the music scene.

Eh, both are very good. I think once you get to their level , deciding which one is better is totally subjective. Well I guess it's ALWAYS totally subjective.

Download Red, Fracture, Lark's Toungues in Aspic pt.1 and 2, Discipline and others to hear songs by King Crimson that Tool are heavily influenced by.

Neil is the Greatest Ever. He has forgotten more than most drummers ever knew. This is not just my opinion-it is the opinion of countless polls in the music world. Modern Drummer magazine for one. If you ask most drummers who is number one-you will get mostly Neil Peart as the best. With John Bonham, Keith Moon and Ginger Baker getting votes.

Most drummers are ignorant of Flo Mounier and Thomas Corn.
