How about an option that says who ever is drafted.
Who ever is drafted will beat out any of the current players other than Surtain.

I don't think Battle will be ready. Achilles injuries usually require 12 months. Then he has to get back into playing shape. Not to mention he got burned more than Warfield.

I disagree... Battle will be ready, and he's gonna want that starting spot. I'm not sure what you were seeing claiming he was getting burned more than Warfield..... care to elaborate?

It could give our offense more opportunity to use Dante if we have another decent KR

I don't see any reason to move Dante away from something he's good at, to something he's not very good at.

Cause he would be it, hands down.

Doesnt Chris Johnson run a high 4.2 in the 40 yd dash? He's over 6 feet I thought, start him. He has got the athleticism to do it, Herm could make him into a fine DB.

It doesn't matter who we pick to play corner. If we don't get any pressure on the QB any corner is going to be useless. I just don't see that happening with Erick " I LOVE TO PLAY PATTY CAKE WITH OFFENSIVE LINEMAN" Hicks and Ryan The Bust Sims.

I get a kick that people bring up "injury concerns" when I wanna draft Cromartie. But there are obviously people who think Battle is fine.....his injury is more more severe than Cromarties.

I am not getting my hopes up this year on a draft pick. I see another trade down into the 2nd round coming with another project pick. Just have a bad feeling. I would like to think we could pick up a decent CB at 20 this year but things rarely work out like I hope. Last year was a bizarro experience getting DJ and not trading down.

I think Carl will start to feel like something is missing and in a bold move prior to training camp, he'll bring Warfield back in a blockbuster trade for Larry Johnson.

I'm guessing Lenny Walls, but I still think Carl might try to land Ty Law. The only reason I think this was his play for Edwards last year.

Personally, I don't want to overpay for a 30-something CB, with the glaring needs elsewhere on the Defense.

Do you want to take him with the Chiefs first pick? He's being projected higher than our 2nd round pick by everyone now.

I truely believe that if the Chiefs could find a way to produce significant and consistant pressure through the D-line, then any of these CB's will be serviceable.

It's unpredictable in where a prospect will fall, and someone like Marshall probably will be lost in the fold.-

I can say one thing for sure.

No matter who we draft, whether it be Hill, Cromartie, etc., NO ROOKIE will start for the Chiefs this year.

It's the Chiefs. Somebody already on the team will be starting, or we'll bring someone else in. I still think Ty Law is in play.

Nah. I don't think so.

Too much $$$. They'll do the usual, whine and dine the guy. If worst comes to worst, make him an offer. Still think the chiefs won't pay up to his asking price.

We won't get him. UNLESS, he has no choice and nobody wants him.

There's your answer. Nobody is sniffing Law right now. My guess is that if he's still available in mid-June, we'll look at bringing him in for TC.

I'd agree other than he's from Fresno which means his head coach has ties to numerous head coaches in the league. I doubt he's forgotten.

I don't know. I would've said that if Vermeil was still here, but Herm seems far more open to playing young players -- if they're the best option for that position.

In the case of a corner behind Surtain, i've got to assume that a first-round DB -- be it Hill, Joseph, Williams or someone like that -- has a better chance to start than one of Walls, Battle, Perkins, Sapp, etc.

Herm will play young players if they can win a starting job. Hell, DV did that too with DJ.

But I got news for you, none of the rookie CB's are gonna beat out Walls. It's just not gonna happen. Rookie CB's don't start unless they're special and we're not gonna get that kind of CB at #20.

Even the great Dale Carter, who Herm mentioned by name as an example of he and Carl getting players that could start early, wasn't an opening day starter. He started only 9 games in his rookie season and returned kicks/punts.

PS: You're going to have to change your username. The less than sign ****s up the board format.
